Shannen Maria Doherty was born on April 12, 1971 in Memphis, Tenessee. Her family consists of her father Tom, hermother Rosa and 4-year-older brother Sean. When she was 7, the family moved to Los Angeles. As a child Shannen was very outgoing. She always participated in school plays and got good grades. But she was alos a very solitary child, and prefered being by herself than playing with other children. Shannen's first role was as Drucilla Shannon when she guest starred on "Father Murphy". Michael Landon discovered her after viewing this episode and cast her as his niece Jenny Wilder when she was just 11 years old in the series "Little House: A New Beginning". She went on to star in the series "Our House!" with Wilford Brimley and Deidre Hall. She also starred in the Comedy "Girls just want to have fun" with Helen Hunt and Sarah Jessica parker. In 1989, Shannen starred with Christian Slater and Winona Ryder in the comedy "Heaters" which was a big success. In 1991m she got the part of Brenda Walsh in Aaron Spellin's teen drama "Beverly Hills 90210". As 90210 and Shannen became more popular, her personal life began to spin out of control. Her every move was usually printed in the tabloids, and they were usually very exxagerated. After about 4 years on 90210, Aaron Spelling replaced her by Tiffany-Amber Thiessen. In 1998, Aaron gave her a role in "Charmed" and she took it imediately.
