Ballad of the Hero

It is your time my son.
You have proven that you can
No longer are you a mere boy
You have now become a man

Link has had quite an adventure
Through arduous tests and trials
Princess Zelda has he rescued
And has fought tyranny for a while

Three pendants he's obtained
Which are the symbols of virtue
The Master Sword now he wields
And has kept his bloodline true

Agahnim the impostor king is dead
Link has shown no trace of fear
Now the time of his destiny
Has drawn very near

With wisdom courage and power
Link has vanquished the cruel
He fought without rest
To free his beloved Hyrule

Though cast into the Dark World
Link refused to give in
And now a great battle
Is his to win

The crystals has he reclaimed
The people that he has freed
The monsters he has slain
Are but a taste of his deeds.

He defeated Agahnim once more.
The enchanted arrow has he now.
It is time to confront Ganon
To kill it, Link knows how

Ganon the wizard is very fierce
The king, and a formidable thief
With power beyond mortal dreams
Has caused much grief

Link entered the stronghold
And there his oppressor stood
The Dark Heart of Chaos
To battle the Hero of Good

He drew forth his sword
He loaded his bow
They clashed and they fought
He could perish though

Link struck a mighty blow
But Ganon fought back
He battled with great skill
Of courage, he had no lack

Thier bout raged on
Much blood did they spill
It's been several hours
Neither has relented still

Link fought like a lion
THough death loomed in the air
He pressed on past his limits
Into the eyes of evil did he stair

Ganon sprung foreward
And cought Link upon it's spear
It struck him a again
The end could be near

With a fiercesome stroke it was stunned
Link fired his arrow true
It was pierced by the shaft
It's black heart it sailed through

Ganon now is slain
Chaos at last is dead
But it will return
That shall we dread

Link went foreward to claim
The power which is
The sacred golden Triforce
That exclusively is his

He touched it with a wish
I am not certain what he chose
But to Hyrule did Link return
Zelda's arms about his did close

But stay weary now Link
For never can you know
When Ganon will return
And to fight it, must you go

All is well in Hyrule
Link and Zelda are very fine
Indeed you are the Hero of Legend
You are truly the son of mine
