Investment Bowls Club
INVESTMENT BOWLS CLUB
The Bowls Club was started in 1983-84 by Walter Pitchford and Ken Booth
Barry Skinner was one of the Managing directors of Investment Engineering and donated 50 towards the startup of the club.  The aim was to get people interested in the game of Bowls.  The team started playing in the Ashfield League and then the Mansfield & District League. As the Club progressed they decided to go further afield and left the Mansfield League to join the Nottingham League.  The Club has had much success and today has 2 Monday teams I Wednesday team and 1 Saturday team. They play their home matches on Kingsway Park Kirky-in-Ashfield Nottinghamshire.  The Club has always encouraged new bowlers to come along and join them and has always been a friendly Club.

English Bowling Federation Rules are the rules that we play by.

FEDERATION BOWLS
The English Bowling Federation is regarded as an alternative flat green code in England, but has a generally cordial relationship with the Association codes. The Federation was founded in 1926, but its roots go back much further than that. The game has its own idiosyncratic rules, but is quite similar to the flat green game as played throughout the world. Generally speaking, the rules for playing surfaces are not as strict as the Association game, so village clubs can play on what the EBA might consider to be unsatisfactory greens. There are no touchers; nothing further than 6 feet from the jack counts; and players can change positions mid-game. Mixed bowls is common, and, at the national championships at Skegness, men and women compete on adjoining rinks.
