COCHRANE - Elizabeth Mary (Lily) (nee Flett), - On Tuesday, March 11, 2003, Lily Cochrane of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., peacefully passed away. She was born April 20, 1921 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her sons, Dale (Nora) Cochrane, Kirk (Catherine) Cochrane, Neil (Shelley) Cochrane; her grandchildren, Cory (Holly), Troy (Shelley Boulton), Kelly, Ryan, Kevin, Craig, Tera, Lane and Drew; her siblings, Hazel (Lyall) Ismond, Peggy (Don) Baugh, and Peter (Jean) Flett, nephews, nieces, and friends. Predeceased by her parents, George and Maggie (nee Craigie) Flett, siblings, Doris, Thomas, Mabel, Edith Sheppard, and George (Buster), grandson, Trever. COCHRANE - Errol James - Sadly, we announce the death of Errol Cochrane, rancher and horse trainer at Fort Qu'Appelle on Monday, March 10th, 2003. He was born September 7th, 1922 at Maple Creek, Sask. Dearly beloved by survivors: sons, Dale (Nora) Cochrane, Kirk (Catherine) Cochrane, Neil (Shelley) Cochrane, and their mother, Elizabeth Cochrane. Grandchildren, Cory (Holly), Troy (Shelley Boulton), Kelly, Ryan, Kevin, Craig, Tera, Lane, Drew, sisters, Grace (Harry) Lightfoot, Betty (William) May, and Jo Anne Morris, friend and fellow equestrian. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Kathleen (nee Kelly), brother, Robert and grandson, Trever. The celebration of Errol's life will be held Friday, March 14th, 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Church, Fort Qu'Appelle. Officiant Rev. Elizabeth Bryce.


DAWSON - Frances (nee Regel). On Friday, March 11, 2005, Frances Dawson, widow of Jim Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., passed away at the age of 74 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Fort Qu'Appelle on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Rick Krofchek. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date. Prayers will be held in the church on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Predeceased by her husband Jim in 2002, her parents, John and Mary Regel and a brother, Willard Regel. Frances is survived by her four children, daughter, Janet (George) Stamatinos, Regina and their family, Lambry and Jordan; son, Michael (Barbara) Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle and their family, Denise (Mark) Dumba, and their children, Mikalela, Ethan and Morgan, Matthew (Michelle) Dawson, Kimberly, Kirsta and Katie Dawson; son, Barry (Joanne) Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle and their family, Justin, Ryan, Amanda and Ashlee; and daughter, Brenda (Doug) Kelly, Regina and their family, Bryan and Hunter; two brothers , Frank (Helen) Regel, Fort Qu'Appelle, and John Regel, Moose Jaw, Sask., one sister Joan Frank, Fort Qu'Appelle, and one sister-in-law, Georgina Regel, Pilot Butte, Sask., Frances is also survived by her nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.


DAWSON - Jim . On Tuesday, January 1, 2002, Jim Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. passed away at the age of 74 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Fort Qu'Appelle on Saturday, January 5, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Wojciech Wojkowiak. Cremation with interment in the Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Prayers will be held in the church on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Predeceased by his parents, John and Lilian (Leng) Dawson and three sisters, Joyce Longpre, Cynthia Gibson and Kathleen Dawson. Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife, Frances and their four children, Janet (George) Stamatinos, Regina and their family, Lambry and Jordan; Michael (Barbara) Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle and their family, Denise (Mark) Dumba, Raymore and their daughter Mickela, Matthew (Michelle) Dawson, Kimberley, Krista and Katie Dawson; Barry (Joanne) Dawson, Fort Qu'Appelle and their family, Justin, Ryan, Amanda and Ashlee; and Brenda (Doug) Kelly, Regina and their family, Bryan and Hunter; one sister, Jenny Monette, Fort Qu'Appelle; three brothers, Alwyne (Johanna) and Doug (Marji), both of Fort Qu'Appelle and Don (May), Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


FARQUHARSON - Neil Donald passed away in Saskatoon, on Monday, May 9, 2005 aged 93. Neil was born and grew up in Fort Qu'Appelle, teaching in several schools in Saskatchewan prior to his service in the RCAF during WWII. He graduated from Queen's University in 1951, receiving an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree. He moved to Montreal and taught high school English and History for the Protestant Central School Board. Neil was pre-deceased by his wife, Annetta Kyle of Winnipeg in 1972 and four older brothers, Alex, Thomas, William and Eric. After Neil's retirement in 1973, he returned to the Qu'Appelle Valley and lived there until he moved to Saskatoon in 2000. He will be sadly missed by his niece, Barbara, and Bill Connery of Saskatoon and their family, James, Darcy, Jenna and Ryan Connery, Rhonda and Robb Brockman, Carla, Chad, Bailey and Aidan Sawatzky, Candace, Rob, Laurie and Matthew Mitchell, and by his nephew, Tom, and Sarah Farquharson of Toronto, and his family, Barbara Farquharson, Robert and Spencer Drinnan, and Scott, Bess and Christopher Farquharson. He will also be missed by his brother and sister in law, Vernon and Marjory Kyle of Toronto. A funeral is arranged for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 14th, 2005 at St. Andrew's United Church, 196 Bay Street South, Fort Qu'Appelle. HANES - Thomas Malcolm Hanes, late of Regina, born October 27, 1922, died June 25, 2003. Predeceased by his wife Agnes, May 20, 1994; daughter Debbie, August 1992; son Allen September 29, 1988; daughter Peggy Ann in infancy; sisters and brother, Kay Scott, Mina Beros, Clifford Hanes, and Margaret Smith; parents Russell and Florence Hanes. He is survived by his children, Darlene Cull (Eddie), Effie Racette (John), Betty Hanes (Merle), Brian Hanes, Gerald Hanes (Bev), Eleanor Harvey (Warren), Penny Harvey, Terry Hanes, Earl Hanes, Mark Hanes (Charlene), and Garry Hanes (Lana); sisters, Effie McKinnon, and Merle Hanes; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; special mention, Shirley Nanapay (John), and Lawrence Beaulieu (Lillian). Thomas resided at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre (Veterans Wing), since 1988, until his death. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. HARDIE - Andrew Robson. On Wednesday, February 11, 2004, Andrew Robson Hardie, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., died at the age of 79 years. The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Fort Qu'Appelle, on Monday, February 16, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Officiant Pat Heffelfinger. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Qu'Appelle. Predeceased by his wife Blanche (nee Holyoak) in 1986, his parents James and Isabella (nee Lockie) Hardie and his half brother James Hardie. Andy is survived by two daughters: Marlene (Dale) Dooley, Prince Albert, Sask.; Valerie (Rick) Wert, Sherwood Park, Alta., one son Dale (Shelley) Hardie, Melville, Sask., grandchildren Nikki, Nolan, Jody, Michael, Brodie and Breanna, great grandchildren; Ryley and McKenzie and one sister Ellen McDonald, Fort Qu'Appelle. Andy is also survived by his nieces and nephews.


HARDIE - Blanche Florence (nee Holyoak). Funeral Service for Blanche Florence Hardie of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., was held at St. Andrew's United Church in Fort Qu'Appelie on July 12, 1986, the Rev. M.H.C. MacDonald officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery with Tubman Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Pallbearers were Bert Edwards, Harry Lindsey, Gerry Kew, Dick Partridge, Glenn Irving and Brian McKenna. Mrs. Hardie passed away at Regina, Sask. on July 9, 1986 at the age of 60 years. She was born at Indian Head, Sask., Nov. 22, 1925 to Albert Edwin Holyoak and Clara Sabina (Clark). Mrs. Hardie was a woman whose deep and real vocation was being a wife, mother and homemaker. A caring neighbour, faithful friend and devoted sister. She was active in the Legion-Auxiliary for many years and also spent time working at the Echo Valley Centre. Predeceased by her parents, two brothers: Albert and Charlie and one sister, May, she leaves to survive her passing her loving husband, Andrew; two daughters: Mrs. Dale (Marlene) Dooley of Prince Albert, Sask. and Mrs. Rick (Valerie) Wert of Saskatoon, Sask.; one son: Dale and his wife Shelley of Fort Qu'Appelle; 4 grandchildren: Nikki and Nolan Dooley and Jody and Michael Wert; two sisters: (Mrs.) Nell Strudwick of Fort Qu'Appelle and Mrs. Jack (Dolly) Fleming of Williams Lake, B.C.


HORSMAN - Ronald. On Monday, October 7, 2002, Ronald Horsman, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., died at the age of 94 years. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church, Fort Qu'Appelle, on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev Isidore Gorski. Interment in the Lakeview Cemetery. Mr. Horsman was predeceased by his wife Edith (nee Haid) in 1995, three brothers: Charles, Arthur and Dave and one sister Eileen Shore. He is survived by his children: Marjorie (Ken) Hutchinson, Fort Qu'Appelle; Don (Carol) Horsman, Fort Qu'Appelle; Ken (Helen) Horsman, Moose Jaw and Julie (Larry) Bedel, Tisdale. IRVING - Scott. The family of Scott is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Friday, February 20, 2004, at the age of 31, surrounded by his loving family. Blessed with having Scott in their lives, he will be missed and forever loved by his wife, Jodie; his little boy, Tyler; his parents, Glenn and Iris; his bro and sister, Jason and Shaune Marchtaler; mom and dad-in-law, Jenny and Murray Hurford; brother-in-law, Kent (Faye); sister-in-law, Susan (Don); numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as many special friends, colleagues and teammates. Scott touched so many with his courage, strength and positive outlook during his brave battle with brain cancer. ISABELLE - Ethel Kathleen (nee Irving) McNaughton. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel on October 20, 2003. She passed away peacefully at home in Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. She was the epitome of a mother, grandmother, friend and neighbour. She will be lovingly remembered for her selflessness, honesty, strength, sense of humour and love for life. She was pre-deceased by her parents, George and Annie Irving, first husband, Gordon McNaughton, brother, Robert Irving, and sister-in-law, Eleanor Irving. She is survived by her husband, Antonio Jack� Isabelle, of Wolseley, Saskatchewan, daughter, Marie Pawelko, of Calgary, Alberta, son, David (Lori) McNaughton, of Qu'Appelle, Sask-atchewan and grandchildren, Darryl (Colleen) Smith of Edmonton, Alberta, Susan Stewart of Fallon, Alberta, Leslie (Ron) Billy of Calgary, Alberta, Nicole Elgert (Doug Makuch) of Regina, Saskatchewan, Tammy (Dean) Szilagyi of Regina, Saskatchewan and Jonathan McNaughton of Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. KEW - Carol (nee Hulm). On Monday, December 13, 2004, Carol Kew, beloved wife of Gerry Kew, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., died suddenly at the age of 60 years. The funeral service will be held in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Indian Head, Sask., on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ed. Hengen officiating. Interment in Indian Head Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the Church Friday evening at 7:30 with Alverta Laskey presiding. Carol is predeceased by her parents: Christina Hulm in 1989; her father, Ted Hulm in 1998 and is survived by her husband Gerry; one son, Conrad (Angie) Schreiner and their family: Lori (Kyle) Raaf, Nichole, Susan and Stephanie, two daughters; Cynthia Schreiner and her son Ryan Davison; Lisa (Joe Oudot) Schreiner all of Indian Head, one sister; Diane (Leo) Dubey, Caron, Sask., one brother in law; Gary (Elaine) Kew, Winnipeg, Man., one sister in law; Merna (Neil) Amundson, Tisdale, Sask., also her nieces, nephews and cousins.


LAMPARD - Wilma (nee Pelletier), passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Regina Pioneer Village. Predeceased by her husband Richard, son Morris, daughter Alice and special son-in-law Vern New. Wilma leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Marie New, Bertha (Don) Matheson; sons Al (Margaret) Lampard and John Lampard; sisters Rhoda Amyotte, Jean Jardine and brother Bill Pelletier; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Born and raised at Katepwa, SK, the Qu'Appelle valley was home for much of her life. Wilma will forever be remembered as a hardworking, caring and loving mother, who never complained or had a harsh work for anyone. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Thanks to all the staff at Pioneer Village who loved and care for her so dearly. MATTHEWS - Douglas Robert born in Fort Qu'Appelle Sask., passed away at the age of 74 on February 13, 2001 at Regina General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents; William and Alma, brothers; Roy, Frank and John; sisters, Aileen, Doreen, Marion and Jean. Doug will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Hedy, his devoted daughters, Lori Valley and Lynn (Peter) Greif; his treasured grandchildren, Terri and Brad (Andrea) Valley, Megan (Earl) Roy; Chris, Geoffrey and Ashley Greif; great-grandchildren, Chandra and Keenan Valley; Two sisters, Joyce (Jim) Edwards and Eleanor (Bert) Edwards; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. MACKINNON - Effie Elizabeth (nee Hanes). On Thursday, August 18th, 2005 Effie Elizabeth MacKinnon, widow of Duncan Lawrence MacKinnon, Regina and formerly of Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. died at the age of 86 years. The funeral service will be held in the Tubman Funeral Home, Fort Qu'Appelle on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Cyr officiating. Interment of cremated remains in Lakeview Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter Linda Hanysh, Winnipeg; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister Merle Hanes and numerous nieces and nephews.


McLAY - Gordon. On Monday, July 8, 2002, Gordon McLay, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., age 89 years. The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., on Friday, July 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Officiant: Rev. Elizabeth Bryce. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Predeceased by his parents, Donald and Cora McLay, a sister, Edna McLay and a brother-in-law, Frank James. Mr. McLay is survived three daughters and one son: Leslie (Lyle) Lang, Melville, Sask.; Jean (Brian Graham), and Myrna (Dave Yates), all of Calgary, Alta., and John McLay, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., four grandchildren, Tim and Chris Graham and Daniel and Patrick Yates, one brother, Don (Doreen) McLay, Fort St. John, B.C., one sister, Jean James, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., and is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Gordon was a WW11 veteran.


ORMISTON - Tom. On Sunday, May 23, 2004, Tom Ormiston, beloved husband of Jane Ormiston, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., age 55 years. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Bert and Minnie Ormiston both in 1977, two brothers; Elmer and Jim Ormiston. Tom is survived by his loving wife Jane and her family, Roxanne (Keith) Osiowy and their family, Daniel, Melissa and Brianna, Regina; Bjorn Meyer, Calgary. Two brothers; Wilbert Ormiston, Fort Qu'Appelle, and Lindsey (Vi) Ormiston, Regina, three sisters; May (Dick) Edwards, Fort Qu'Appelle, Joyce Jordan (Doug McEwan), Whitewood, Sask., and June Edwards, Fort Qu'Appelle also his nieces and nephews. At Tom's request there will be no funeral service. PARTRIDGE - Richard Joseph. On Wednesday, July 5, 2006, Richard Joseph Partridge, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. died at the age of 80 years. A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Nevett officiating. Richard was predeceased by his wife Ruth in 1999; his parents Harry and Rosanna Partridge; brother Jim, son in law Craig and is survived by his children: Bob (Betty), Marlene (Allan), Lorraine (Ewald) and Harry (Theresa); his special friend, Jean Moskalyk; thirteen grandchildren: Ryan, Terri, Angie, Kyle, Bryce, Gerald, Collin, Kerry, Brian, Jeremy, Diana, Daniel, Kevin and their spouses ; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister in law Ida Partridge and numerous nieces and nephews. STRUDWICK - Nellie Sabina (nee Holyoak) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at the age of 87, in the Lanigan Health Centre in Lanigan, Sk. She was born in Indian Head, Sk. on Feb. 26, 1917, the fifth child of Edwin Albert and Clara Sabina (nee Clark) Holyoak. In 1936 she married William Russel Strudwick of Fort Qu�Appelle, Sk. Bill & Nel raised a family of three children, farmed and lived in the Invercauld district southeast of Fort Qu�Applle until 1960 when they moved into town. After Bill�s death in 1984, Nel eventually moved to Nokomis, Sk. In 2003 Nel took up residence in the Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan. Nel was predeceased by her husband William Strudwick, her brothers; Albert (Edna) Holyoak, Charles Holyoak, and her sisters; May (Alfred) Bjorgan, Dorothy (Jack) Fleming and Blanche (Andrew) Hardie. She is survived by her three children; Sharon (Ron) Isherwood of Nokomis, Harley (Allyce) Strudwick of Langham, Sk., Daryl (Mary) Strudwick of Nokomis, grandchildren; Kim Oscienny of Regina, Sk., Clint Isherwood of Wetaskiwin, AB., Hayden Strudwick of Saskatoon, Aulden Strudwick of Saskatoon, Jason (Tina) Hauck of Estevan, Kalie (Tim) Hendry of Nokomis, Leigha Strudwick of Saskatoon, Mallory Strudwick of Saskatoon, and Daryl Strudwick Jr. of Nokomis; brother-in-law Jack Fleming of Williams Lake, BC.; five great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the United Church in Fort Qu�Appelle, Sk., on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sylvia Thompson officiating. Pallbearers are Clint Isherwood, Jason Hauck, Hayden Strudwick, Aulden Strudwick, Daryl Strudwick Jr. and Tim Hendry. Interment to follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Fort Qu'Appelle. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nel; one daughter, Mrs. Ron (Sharon) Isherwood, and their children, Kim and Clinton, Nokomis, Sask.; two sons: Harley and his wife Allyce, and their son Hayden, Langham, Sask.; Daryl and his wife, Mary and their children, Jason, Kalie, and Leigh, La Ronge, Sask.; one sister, Mrs. Florence Finlayson, Victoria, B.C.; one brother, Henry, Edmonton, Alberta; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
