Company History

On January 24, 1978, the Niles Audio Corporation began as a small business manufacturing a line of switching devices for specialty audio stores and consumers. The first Niles product ever made was the JSK-2, a speaker/amplifier switcher designed for use in audio showrooms. Soon after, the SPS-1, forerunner of today's popular SPS-4 speaker selector, and the CPM-31 6x6 matrix switcher became the first consumer products manufactured under the Niles name. Much of the custom installation industry as it is known today is built upon the implementation of the first few consumer products in the Niles line.

Since making an appearance at its first trade show, the 1979 International High Fidelity Show in Atlanta, the company has grown by leaps and bounds. Niles currently manufactures over 500 products and offers the industry's most comprehensive line of audio/video installation products. This "soup-to-nuts" approach has made Niles the most widely recognized name in custom audio.

The ever-expanding Niles product line includes all the essential tools of the trade. Systems Integration amplifiers are designed to provide the backbone of multi-room sound systems, which can be fed by switching devices to provide access to audio/video sources in multiple configurations. IntelliPads and IntelliControl systems enable complete control in the form of affordable, attractive, and most importantly - user friendly interfaces. Providing users with endless hours of the finest in audio reproduction, Niles in-wall and indoor/outdoor speakers fill rooms and spaces with rich, uncolored sound from nearly invisible installation locations. The extensive Niles speaker line is a favorite of custom installation professionals, as each represents an outstanding value in terms of performance versus cost. Currently featuring 23 models, every Niles speaker is designed to fit a specific application and function accordingly. The Niles speaker line has expanded to include the four new "state-of-the-art" Advanced Technology Series in-walls. These extraordinary speakers are constructed using materials and technology borrowed from the aerospace industry while incorporating the most modern theories of acoustics, resulting an in-wall speaker sure to satisfy even the most discriminating audiophile.

The Niles organization began to gain recognition upon receiving The Design and Engineering Award for both the IPC-6 and the RVS-6 products at the 1992 CES show. Since that time, Niles products have won over 20 awards.
