In June 1998, Warner Brothers started airing an animated prime time dramatic miniseries called "Invasion America" that told the story of a half-alien and half-human boy in search of his father and on a mission to save Earth. The six-hour miniseries mixed traditional 2D Korean animation (by a company called AKOM) with 3D animation, courtesy of DreamWorks TV Animation. The show was a refreshing and intelligent sci-fi adventure for many people and ratings remained good throughout its run. "Invasion America" is the story of a teenage boy named David Carter,

Dragit, Cale Oosha's brother, informs Cale that his father, the former Tyrusian Emperor, never understood that Tyrus was a dying planet. Dragit plans on using Earth as a new planet for the Tyrusians to live on. Cale disagrees with Dragit's plan, citing that his father believed rights of others are sacred. Once Dragit realizes Cale will not go along with his plan he attempts to have him killed. Cale narrowly escapes from the secret city with the aide of a woman named Rita Carter.

Rita and Cale fall in love and have a son named David. When David was a young child his father Cale was called back to Tyrus. Cale tells his Tyrusian friend Rafe he must stay on Earth to protect David and Rita. Cale says about David, "He is our future."

Present Day -- Glenport Massachusetts. The 17-year-old David Carter realizes he has always been alone. David notices his heightened athletic abilities which make him different from other teenagers. Rita prevents David from participating in sports, despite his incredible skills, and from even taking driver's education; worried that something will happen to him.

For 17 years David Carter's mother and Rafe, his Tyrusian protector, have hidden his father's identity from him. Rita insists to Rafe that David is not ready to know the truth; but David's father's enemies have already found him. Rafe finally discloses the truth to David that his father is Cale Oosha and he is half Tyrusian. In order to save him from alien pursuers Rita, David's mother, takes her own life along with those hunting David. It is now David's responsibility to help win a war for the freedom of Earth. A 17 year old boy named David is thrown into a situation far bigger than he can imagine. As he finds out both who and what he is, he looses everything he knows and loves. And he learns that not everyone is what they seem, that every possible ally is a possible enemy, and that they(the Tyrusians) are out there, and have been for a long time. And that he must stop the Invasion.... The cast of vocal characters includes Nimoy, Bennett, Kristy McNichol, Lorenzo Lamas, Edward Albert, Robert Urich, Ronny Cox, James Sikking, Rider Strong, Dee Wallace Stone, Tony Jay, Greag Eagles, Jim Cummings, Jennifer Darling, Kath Soucie, Thorn Adcox, and newcomer Mikey Kelley."Invasion America" concluded July 7, leaving Warner Brothers to decide if it's worth picking up for an entire season. The outlook isn�t good. But if it should be picked up again. Ratings in the key audience of young adult viewers have been higher than expected for "Invasion America" and may result in the show becoming a regular series.
