Zim updates Gir's guidance chip, enabling him to find any place. After a couple tests (asking Gir where Irk and stuff was), Zim decides it's time for the real thing. He gets them lost, then ask Gir to point the way home. Gir can't find it, and when asked why he tells Zim that he left it at home to make room for a cupcake. Zim tries making a magnitized compass out of scrap metal from the trash, but that doesn't work so well since Gir is apparently magnetic. Gir suggests the bus (actually, he reads it off the side of a bus, but close enough) and Zim tries to get on, but is kicked off because he doesn't have enough money. Zim then tries using the sun to find which way is west, but it burns the skin off his eyeballs, and he has to wait for it to grow back. Once it does, he wonders how to get home. A guy yells at him to find a job, so he and Gir go to the park and dance for people. They get money, and get on the bus. The bus gets stuck in traffic, and all the people and little noises and everything drive Zim crazy. He gets off the bus and thinks of another way to get home: Go to the top of the highest place in the city and look for his house from there. The highest place in the city is the top of the bank, which was, unfortunatly for Zim, robbed by a guy who looks just like him. The police chase him to the top of the building, but Zim uses Gir's jets to get him away. Gir jets run out rather quickly and they land in a trash can, because Gir seemed to have replaced his fuel with tuna, which he eats. As a last resort, Zim takes a cab, which doesn't work so well, because he ends up in Mexico.
