Episode 3a: Bestest Friend

While Zim sits alone at lunch, a popular girl comments on how Zim has no friends, and that having no friends is inhuman. This terrifies Zim, as he thinks that havin no friends will reveal to people that he's an alien. He has a little imagining of him in a vial while a scientist says that they noticed he had no friends, which showed he was an alien. Zim gets up and walks over to where the reject kids sit, and conducts tests on three of them. One an absorbancy test, one an electrical conductivity test, and one a... well, it had something to do with a beaver and a toy taxi. A boy named Keef is the winner, and Zim spends all day with him, never missing a chance to point out that Keef is his best friend. He walks home with Keef, then tells him he no longer needs his services and shuts the door. Keef calls him, then calls him again, and Zim rips the phone out of the wall. Then Keef starts riding past his window, over and over, so Zim shuts the blinds. He goes down to his lab, telling Gir to not answer the door for anyone. However, right after Zim leaves, the doorbell rings, and Gir answers it, thinking it's leprechauns.
The next morning Zim comes up from his lab, and sees Keef in his kitchen. He kicks him out, and Keef says he wanted to walk to skool with him. Zim says that he's sick and isn't going to skool, then goes inside. Gir comes out to take some of the bacon Keef has, and Keef tells Gir they should throw "poor sick Zim" a surprise party after skool. He tells Gir to keep it a secret, but Gir spills the beans when Zim catches him with party favors and decorations. Zim freaks out because he thinks that all of Earth is going to show up at his doorstep. He works in his lab all day, trying to finish something before skool gets out. Finally, just before Keef arrives, he finishes. It's a package of some sort. Keef opens it, and it takes out his eyes, then replaces them with new ones. Zim pulls himself up to the ceiling and tells Keef that when he snaps his fingers the next living thing he sees he will believe to be his best friend. Zim snaps his fingers, and Keef looks out the window. He sees a squirrel, and thinks it's Zim. He tells all the kids (all the unpopular kids) it's Zim, and they're weirded out. Keef follows the squirrel/Zim up a building, and the squirrel/Zim attacks him, causing them to both roll off the building.
