[episode 19]
((after Inuyasha and company gets back from Mount Hakaraizon and spend the night at Kaede’s house))
~outside Kaede’s house with Alex in the morning~
(Alex is sitting on a medium size rock thinking to himself)
(Inuyasha comes out of the hut stretching his arms)
Inuyasha- What’s up Alex?
Alex- Nothing, just thinking.
Inuyasha- About what?
Alex- Various things. You think we should just chill today? Naraku is running around so I don’t know where he is.
Inuyasha- Well….I guess. Kagome and the others are tired, they cant keep up with us.
Alex- Yeah I noticed they haven’t woken up yet and its almost lunch time.
Inuyasha- I want to ask you something while they aren’t around.
Alex- Ask away.
Inuyasha- What will happen if I keep transforming into a full demon.
Alex- I thought I already told you what would happen….
Inuyasha- Not really, all you said was it is unhealthy.
Alex- Well lets put it this way; every time you turn into a demon you cross a line, the further you go the harder it is to get back to the way you were and eventually you wont be able to come back across that line to the way you used to be.
Inuyasha- So if I transform too much I turn into a full demon permanently?
Alex- Yes but you wont be able to recognize friend or foe and you will just kill until you are eventually destroyed by a stronger demon or human. Why did you ask me this anyways?
Inuyasha- Well the first time I transformed I remembered bits and pieces of it and felt overwhelmed and then the 2nd time I transformed I couldn’t remember anything at all and just felt overwhelmed with enjoyment of killing anything that moved. I’m kinda scared of what I might do to my friends if it happens again.
Alex- That’s natural, but you were able to pull yourself out of it, so in a way you were able to limit yourself on how far past that line you can go. Don’t try to transform and if you do end up transforming do anything you can to stop the transformation. The best way to do that is to keep something important in mind.
Inuyasha- Like what?
Alex- Ummmm like Kagome and how much you want to protect her.
Inuyasha-……….
Alex- What’s wrong?
Inuyasha- Well…..It just that….
Alex- (smirks a bit) What are you embarrassed of you liking Kagome? I wouldn’t be embarrassed if I were you, its obvious you like her.
Inuyasha- Is it that obvious?
Alex- Come on man, I used to be just like that and it never got me anywhere.
Inuyasha- So what did you do?
Alex- I became more straight forward with my feelings. Most women don’t like men who beat around the bush.
Inuyasha- I feel kinda stupid asking you these questions.
Alex- Don’t be, it doesn’t bother me. I get this kind of stuff all the time.
Inuyasha- So I should just tell Kagome how I feel?
Alex- Well yeah when the mood is right. You’ll know when it is the right time. I suggest you that advantage of the situation when it comes around.
Inuyasha- But when is a right time?
Alex- Some time like when you and Kagome are alone after something big has happened.
Inuyasha- Hmmm. (Inuyasha starts to day dream about a scenario of him and Kagome declaring their love to each other)
Alex- Inuyasha? Hey Inuyasha…… Great he’s spacing out on me.
(Miroku comes out of the hut and looks at Inuyasha who is still spacing out)
Alex- (in a sarcastic tone) The dead walks.
Miroku- Good morning to you too.
Alex- (laughs a little bit) Inuyasha and I figured ya’ll could use the rest so we didn’t wake you.
Miroku- Oh isn’t that thoughtful.
(Inuyasha realizes Miroku is there and comes out of his day dream)
Inuyasha- So you all rested Miroku?
Miroku- Good as new.
Inuyasha- Is anybody else up?
Miroku- Kagome is getting ready.
(a few minutes later Sango, Kagome, and Shippo come out and meet up with Miroku, Inuyasha, and Alex)
Kagome- Morning all.
Alex- Sleep well?
Kagome- Yeah how about you? Why did you get up so early?
Alex- No reason, just figured I would enjoy watching the sunrise.
Inuyasha- Alex and I decided we would just let ya’ll rest for today.
Alex- With last weeks happenings I’m sure you guys are tired. We should just head our separate ways for a few days and meet up here in 3 days. How’s that sound?
Sango- That’s a good idea. I wouldn’t mind having a chance to go to my home village for a while.
Miroku- Come to think of it I’ve never been to your home village Sango. Do you mind if I come?
Sango- Sure but try anything and I’ll hurt you badly got that?
Miroku- I’m shocked that you would accuse me of planning to do anything wrong Sango.
Alex to himself- Heh this is just a disaster waiting to happen.
Kagome- Well I haven’t been back to school in forever I probably need to catch up on my work.
Inuyasha- You’re going back home?
Kagome- Yeah is that a problem?
Inuyasha- No why would it be a problem?
Kagome- Huh? Well…you always make a big deal when I want to go home.
Inuyasha- It’s only for few days but you have to remember after those 3 days we have to come back.
Kagome- Ok.
Sango- What are you going to do Alex?
Alex- Well I planned to look around the local villages. What do we do about Shippo?
Shippo- Yeah who am I going with?
Inuyasha- Well he can’t go with me and Kagome cause he can’t pass through the well.
Sango- He would be bored if he came with me and Miroku.
(Kaede walks out of the house and walks over to Inuyasha and the others)
Alex to himself- Thank god I thought they were gonna stick me with Shippo for a minute there.
Alex- Kaede, do you mind having Shippo around for a few days?
Kaede- No why?
Alex- Well we are all going to do our own stuff for a few days as a break and Shippo has no one to go with. He sure doesn’t want to go with me I’m probably gonna do boring stuff.
Kaede- Sure he can stay with me. (everybody splits up and heads their own way)
~with Kagome and Inuyasha who have just come out of the well house~
(Souta is practicing soccer)
Souta- Hey welcome home sis!
Kagome- Yeah I was gone for a while.
Souta- (Souta see Inuyasha behind Kagome) Inuyasha came back with you?
Kagome- He’s got no one else to hang out with, so he will be staying with us for the next few days.
(Souta, Kagome, and Inuyasha walk inside Kagome’s house)
Grandpa ((Kagome’s grandfather))- Oh you’re back.
Mama ((Kagome’s mom))- You were gone for a while why don’t you come in and sit down?
Kagome- Okay. (everybody walks into he family room and sits down)
~in the family room~
Grandpa- I had a hard time coming up with an excuse for your school you know.
Souta- So what did you guys do while you were gone?
Kagome- It’s a long story.
Mama- We have lots of time lets hear what ya’ll did.
Kagome- Well first off we met somebody new.
Souta- Who?
Kagome- His name is Alex. He’s a ¼ demon kind of like Inuyasha cept Inuyasha is a ½ demon. Anyways he has been helping us with out journey to find shikon shards.
Souta- What’s he like? I bet he’s not as cool as Inuyasha.
Kagome- No he’s cooler.
Inuyasha- Nani?! ((What in Japanese))
Kagome- (laughs) I’m just kidding Inuyasha.
Inuyasha- There is no way he is cooler than me. Plus I fight better.
Kagome- Better not let him hear you say that or we would find out.
Mama- Is he violent or something?
Kagome- Oh no he just likes to pick on Inuyasha every now and then.
(they continue to talk about the last few weeks in feudal Japan)
~with Alex who is walking through the woods towards a nearby village~
((Alex has his arms crossed))
(Alex hears a nearby bush rustle and a few men come out holding swords and spears and stop in front of Alex)
Man 1- Leave your belongings and we wont kill you boy. (Alex continues to walk and walks through the middle of them)
Man 2- Hey didn’t you hear him?! (the man grabs the back of Alex’s shirt and then lets go)
Alex- I’m not leaving you punks anything this is my day off leave me alone.
Man 1- (in a sarcastic voice) Aww he’s on a day off lets not bother him (the man raises his sword and is about to try to cut Alex in the back).
Alex- I suggest you lower your sword unless you want your butt kicked.
Man 1- What did you say?! You cocky little…(the man comes down with a vertical strike but Alex steps to the side and avoids it)
Alex- Don’t you get it? (turns around and faces the men) I’m on a day off I don’t want to fight you idiots come back later.
Man 1- Why you little…. (all of the men raise their spears and swords) ((there is a man on each side of Alex except the back))
Alex- I really don’t want to fight today but I guess I have to. (Alex cracks his knuckles and puts up his fists)
Man 1- You cant fight us bare handed and win.
Alex- Wanna bet on that? (Alex runs and punches Man 1 in the face and sends him flying back) (the 2nd and 3rd men run at Alex and have their spears pointed at him)
Alex- (sigh) Fools. Who do you think I am? (Alex steps to the side and grabs the spear and yanks it out of the 2nd mans hands and breaks it in half and grabs the 2nd man and throws him into a tree) (The 3rd man comes up behind Alex and tries to stab him in the back but Alex jumps and kicks the man in the side and he staggers back into a tree)
Alex- Pathetic. (Alex turns and continues to walk)
(The 3 men get up and start to run at Alex with their swords)
(As the men get close to Alex a strong wind blows)
Alex- I wouldn’t do that if I were you guys….
(A blade of wind comes down and breaks the 3 men’s swords)
Alex- Told ya… (the men drop their swords and run off)
(Kagura lands in front of Alex and closes her fan and Alex stops)
Alex- Kagura……
Kagura- I’m sorry I had to leave so suddenly last time we met but I had to go do something.
Alex- I understand. So why are you here?
Kagura- I want to know…..
Alex- Want to know?
Kagura- I want to know why you really freed me from Naraku.
Alex- It’s because……well……you see….I really like you and wished I could spend more time to get to know you.
Kagura- (has a surpised look on her face)…….
Alex- That’s why I freed you but being free means you can do what you want so you choose what you want to do.
Kagura- I’ve been lonely all my life I’ve never had somebody care about me. I’ve always been a tool to someone, bringing them here and there, doing this or that. It was just kind of a shock that someone actually cared.
Alex- I know how you feel.
Kagura- I don’t have a home or family and the only one who cares about me is you. So I was wondering if I could possibly travel with you.
Alex- Yeah that’d be wonderful.
Kagura- What about Inuyasha though?
Alex- I’ve already handled that problem. He wont give you any trouble.
Kagura- And Kouga?
Alex- I took care of that one for now but if he fights you I don’t care what it takes just win.
Kagura- I didn’t really want to kill his friends but at the time I was offered an enormous reward if I did, and at that point in time I didn’t know who to side with.
Alex- It’s not your fault, Naraku is who Kouga is really after.
Kagura- Naraku is planning to get DJ to free a woman called Kaguya Hime but neither one of them know where she is, the only thing he knows is that her shrine is somewhere west of here.
Alex- Hah. Nice try Naraku.
Kagura- What are you talking about?
Alex- I just figured out what Naraku’s plan was. First of all DJ gave me a note that told me how to get into Kaguya’s Mirror realm, not likely for Naraku to bypass, but where he messed up is letting me know he didn’t know where Kaguya is.
Kagura- Why is that were he messed up?
Alex- He got DJ to write that note as a decoy, DJ doesn’t know where Kaguya is but DJ knows I know where she is. Naraku wanted me to lead him to Kaguya.
Kagura- But why does Naraku want to get to Kaguya anyways?
Alex- Eternal youth, you know so he can live young forever etc. etc.
Kagura- Well Naraku didn’t know I heard him and DJ talking about it so they probably think we don’t know what they plan to do.
Alex- You’re right, we can wait it out and lead that bastard into a trap of our own.
Kagura- It’ll serve him right for putting me into that trap with Inuyasha and Kouga back then.
Alex- Yeah I remember that. He used you as a tester just to see Kaze no Kizu. It pisses me off to this very day.
Kagura- So how do we lead Naraku for this trap?
Alex- Ever heard of something called the valley of lost souls?
Kagura- No why?
Alex- It’s a valley that spans for 100s of miles and is covered in fog. If you don’t know where you are going you get lost and never come out alive. There is a cavern underneath the valley with a shrine for a tormented woman’s soul, legend says she keeps the fog there, the point is we lure him there and fight him and if he gets away we have a chance of him getting lost and giving us time to chase him down.
Kagura- But what if one of us gets lost?
Alex- I have a device that will help us with that, this. (Alex pulls out a compass)
Kagura- DJ was right you always have something to help you out of jams.
Alex- Heh I just prepare more than that slacker. By the way did DJ say anything strange to you? Anything out of the ordinary?
Kagura- Not really, nothing I remember….Wait he did say a couple of thing that sounded strange, he said “Control comes from the wind.” . What does that mean?
Alex- (thinks for a minute) I bet he is referring to my demon form. After transforming so much, it means I have to keep something important in mind the next time I do transform.
Kagura- He also said “Ash to ash, dust to dust, fade to black, the memory remains.” and he seemed to say “He is master of puppets…” a whole lot more than normal. I don’t get what all that was about.
Alex- Me nether, he could’ve been just singing….Wait DJ never sings…it’s got to mean something….
Kagura- Well I don’t think we have time to worry about that. (Kagura points to a large group heading toward them with swords at the ready)
The leader of the group- (stops in front of Alex and Kagura) I am A vassal of Mistress Tokimo we have been instructed to gather anybody that is dressed strangely and to use force if necessary.
Alex- And your point would be?
Vassal- We are here to bring you back to Mistress Tokimo’s castle.
Alex- (shakes one finger) Uh uh no not gonna happen.
Vassal- Then we will take you by force. Men seize them! (a smaller group of men come running to the front)
Alex- Hold it! Don’t even touch me unless you want to die. (the men stop) Look your “Mistress” does she have a baby?
Vassal- Why would that matter?
Alex- Just answer me. Does she or does she not?
Vassal- Lately yes but that is of no importance. (the men start to walk nearer to Alex)
Alex- (sighs) These idiots are being controlled by Naraku’s new incarnation, do you want to take this or do you want me to?
Kagura- No you can handle it. I’d rather not right now.
Alex- Ok. You heard the lady I’m your opponent don’t touch her.
Vassal- Tie both of them up! (the men tackle Alex and Kagura before they can react)
Alex- Arrg. You guys need to go on a diet!
(Alex can see Kagura struggling against the other 2 men that tackled her) (one of the men punches Kagura in the face)
Alex- OH HELL NO!! (Alex stands up with such force he throws the other men back) (Alex dashes at the men and grabs the 2 that tackled Kagura and slams them against the nearest tree)
Alex- I hope you like pain cause you’ll be getting plenty for hitting her. I had already told you to leave her out of this.
Vassal- Get him! (the rest of the men dash at Alex) (Alex turns and throws the 2 men into the crowd and knocks down a few of them but they get back up)
Alex- (unsheathes his sword) I don’t usually kill normal humans but for you bastards I’ll make an exception! (Alex starts to dash at the men)
Kagura- Wait! (Alex stops and looks back at Kagura)
Kagura- Never mind that, we ought to go with them to see about Naraku’s incarnation.
Alex- ……Hmm….Ok if you say so. (Alex sheathes his sword and Looks at the men)
Alex- You better thank her cause I was sure about to kill you. We’ll come but if you try anything I wont hesitate to kill you all.
(Alex and Kagura follow the men back to Mistress Tokimo’s castle)
