[episode 18: Kikyo’s death]

((During the week between episode 17 and 18 Naraku has gained a new body and tries to kill Kouga and Inuyasha goes after him. That is where this episode picks up))

~with Alex who is running up to the base of Mount Hakaraizon~

Alex- Crap, crap, crap! I didn’t tell Inuyasha about Kikyo before I left. I hope I get there in time to save her. Hopefully he can handle getting Kouga out of the Mount before it collapses. (Alex changes directions and heads for Kikyo)

~with Inuyasha who has just landed by Kagome and Shippo after escaping with Kouga from Mount Hakaraizon~

((Inuyasha has seen 2 illusions of Kikyo within the last 2 minutes))

Kouga- (Grabs Kagome’s hand) Sorry to have worried you Kagome. (Inuyasha makes a disgusted face)

Inuyasha- Don’t grab her hands you mangy wolf!

Kouga- Shut up mutt!
(Inuyasha sees another illusion of Kikyo again)
Inuyasha- Huh? (picks up his head) I have a bad forefeeling. Kagome stay here with Shippo, I have to go check something. (Inuyasha runs off toward Kikyo)

Kouga- Hey wait a second! What’s with him?

~with Naraku who has just confronted Kikyo~

(as Naraku approaches the ground cracks wide and Naraku appears out of a cloud of Miasma)

Kikyo- Naraku.

Naraku- Kikyo…Long time no see.

Kikyo- (Strings her bow with an arrow) Naraku! What is your true intent?!

Naraku- What do you mean? (smirks)

Kikyo- I saw one of your followers leave with something what was it and what is its purpose?

Naraku- (laughs a little bit) Sharp as ever Kikyo. Unfortunately you wont be around to find out.
(Kikyo shoots an arrow by Naraku’s head and strings another arrow and points it at Naraku)
Kikyo- Tell me what you plan to do or that will be your head.
Naraku- (Laughs maliciously) So it’s a fight you want? That’s fine with me…(Naraku has one of the horns on his arm band grow and he breaks Kikyo’s bow and her arrow with one strike)

Kikyo- (stands stunned for a moment) How can you even strike at me?

Naraku- Kikyo so cocky that’s just like you. You think it was a coiencidense that you came to this mountain? You’re so called fate does not exist.
Kikyo- What are you talking about?
Naraku- I brought you here by luring you here with that bandit and his foolish wish to be saved.
((Kikyo met a bandit who wanted to be saved and asked her to deliver a piece of his hair to Mount Hakaraizon to be saved))

Kikyo- You bastard you lie. You cant hurt me as long as Onigumo is part of you.
Naraku- (cuts Kikyo’s right shoulder and it cracks like clay and starts seeping out small parts of souls) Is that so? You haven’t figured it out yet?

Kikyo to herself- How can he strike me? Is it possible he got rid of Onigumo? (Kikyo thinks of Naraku’s follower she spoke of)

Kikyo- I get it now, you detached Onigumo successfully. That’s what your follower was carrying.
Naraku- (laughs a bit) Very good. Yes I detached that despicable Onigumo from me. Look at you now what do you plan to do? Inuyasha is all tied up escaping the mountain and cant save you. No one is coming to your rescue.

Kikyo- Bastard. I will not die to you.

Naraku- I beg to differ. (Naraku’s hand grows long and he stabs Kikyo with his hand and she starts to fall back into one of the cracks which is filled with acidic miasma)

Kikyo to herself- Ugh. How? How could I die to him again? (Kikyo sees an illusion of Inuyasha)

Kikyo to herself- Inuyasha….why did I think of him now? Is it because I regret not asking for his help?

(Kikyo falls into the miasma and disappears)

~on the top of the cliff with Naraku~

(Sesshomaru walks up behind Naraku)

Sesshomaru- You racked your brain to kill that girl? Is that what all this was for?
Naraku- Sesshomaru….I did this for that and to get a full demons body….such as yours. (Naraku starts to walk toward Sesshomaru)
Sesshomaru- You couldn’t handle a full demon body. (pulls out toukajin and send a powerful dragon wave at Naraku in one fluid motion)

(Naraku absorbs it with his barrier)

Naraku- (laughs maliciously) Sesshomaru, I return to you the untouched power of your sword. (The dragon wave reflects back at Sesshomaru and Sesshomaru is forced to block and slides back a foot)

(Alex comes running by Sesshomaru towards Naraku with Inazuma Ryu drawn and the dragon wrapped around the sword)
Alex- I’ll kill you for sure this time! (Jumps into the air and cuts the barrier and Naraku in half verticaly)

Alex- DIE ALREADY! RYU SHI-NAMI ((dragon death wave in Japanese)) (Alex comes back around with a horizontal strike and a red force wave like Inuyasha’s Kaze no Kizu comes out of the sword and hits Naraku)
(What is left of Naraku ((the right side of his face)) puts up a stronger barrier and floats away)

Naraku- It is useless I will not die!
(Naraku disappears and Alex sheaths Inazuma Ryu)

Alex- Damn it I didn’t get here in time.

(Inuyasha comes running through the cloud of dust surrounding Sesshomaru and Alex)

Inuyasha- Alex? I saw Naraku floating away. Where is Kikyo?!
(Alex lowers his head a little bit and points to the huge crack Kikyo fell into)

Inuyasha- No….And you just stood by and watched Alex?!

Alex- (Alex lifts his head quickly) Don’t blame me! I came after Naraku killed Kikyo! It you are going to blame somebody blame Sesshomaru. (Alex points to Sesshomaru)

Alex- That cold hearted bastard didn’t even make a move to help Kikyo even though he was here the whole time!

Inuyasha- (turns to Sesshomaru) Is that true Sesshomaru?!

Sesshomaru- What about it?
Inuyasha- So you did stand by and let her get killed! You bastard! (Inuyasha clinches a fist and blood seeps out of Inuyasha’s fist from his claws cutting into his hand)

Sesshomaru- I don’t know why Naraku killed that woman. But one thing is true, the man who killed her is Naraku and the man who didn’t come to save her…..is you.

Inuyasha- You mother f**ker! (Inuyasha runs at Sesshomaru but is tackled by Alex)

Inuyasha- Get off me Alex! (Inuyasha struggles to get free of Alex, but cant)

(Alex stands Inuyasha and himself up while holding Inuyasha back from Sesshomaru)
Alex- I know how you feel Inuyasha but going into a mad rage wont change anything!

Sesshomaru- If you have time to bother me little brother you should be chasing Naraku.
Jaken- Damn right. (Sesshomaru and Jaken turn and walk away)

(Inuyasha struggles against Alex even more)

Inuyasha- Come back here Sesshomaru, you heartless bit**!

Alex- Sorry Inuyasha but I have no other choice. (Alex punches Inuyasha in the stomach and Inuyasha falls to his knees)

Inuyasha- (coughs) What the hell Alex why did you stop me?!

Alex- I already told you why! (Inuyasha stands up and grabs Alex’s shirt)

Inuyasha- You knew about this didn’t you?! You always do! (Alex gets a serious look in his eyes)

Alex- Let go of me right now Inuyasha.

Inuyasha- You knew Kikyo was going to die didn’t you?!

Alex- I’m only going to tell you once more, let…me…go.

Inuyasha- Not until you answer my question!

Alex- (Alex grabs Inuyasha’s shirt and throws Inuyasha about 5 feet) I told you to let go of me.

I see too much of me inside of you right now, calm down.

Inuyasha- (gets up) Why? Does it hurt that much?
Alex- Haunted by losing a loved one, vengeful, and full of hatred. You resemble me too much!

I knew Kikyo was going to die but I tried to save her but I was too late….and so where you.
Inuyasha- You could have changed this! Why didn’t you?!

Alex- I told you I tried but I couldn’t.
Inuyasha- Why did it have to be her though?

Alex- I cant answer that question.

Inuyasha- Is she really dead? Is there at least a chance she is alive?

Alex- 99.9% says she is dead. Not even metal and bone can survive that liquid miasma.

Inuyasha-……..Kikyo…….

(Alex turns and walks away)

Alex- (lowers his head a little bit) I’m sorry Inuyasha, I wish I could have helped her for your sake.

Inuyasha- Wait Alex…

(Alex stops and turns back toward Inuyasha)

Inuyasha- Teach me.

Alex- (Alex lifts an eyebrow) Huh? Teach you what?

Inuyasha- Teach me how to bring her back with alchemy.

Alex- No I cant let you go through with that.

Inuyasha- I owe her my life. She died because of me.

Alex- That’s not true. She died because of man’s greed and lust. You had nothing to do with her death.
(Alex turns and walks away and leaves Inuyasha alone)
Inuyasha- Why Kikyo? WHY? (falls to one knee) Why didn’t you wait for me to come fight for you?! Damn it!! (Inuyasha balls up a fist and punches the ground as hard has he can)
Inuyasha- Why did you fight without me Kikyo? Didn’t you trust me?
~with Alex later that evening who has just found Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, and Kouga by a camp fire~

Kagome- Alex you finally came. Did you see Inuyasha?
Alex- Yeah.

Kagome- So where is he?

Alex- Don’t know. (Alex looks over at Kouga and then back to Kagome)

Alex- Inuyasha needs some space. Say Kagome you told wolf boy here about me right?

Kagome- Yeah we’ve been here a while so I had time.

(Kouga stands up)

Kouga- So you are the dragon fighter?

Alex- (makes a questionable face) Dragon fighter?

Kouga- Rumors have it that there is a Dragon fighter that uses a dragon possessed sword.

Alex- Yeah I guess that would be me why?

Kouga- I don’t do this much but I want to enlist your help.

Alex- Eh? Me? Why?

Kouga- Kagome says you have 2 shards and you fight very well without them, so I could use some help from you to kill Kagura and Naraku. Kagome also says you know where Naraku is. Is that true?

Kagome- Umm Kouga….

Alex- I can only agree to 2/3 of that.

Kouga- Why only 2/3? What is the part you cant do?

Alex- Leave Kagura out of your revenge.

Kouga- No way in hell she killed my friends.

(Alex crosses his arms and becomes serious)

Alex- I know good and well what she did, but I cant let you kill her.

Kouga- I will kill her on behalf of my friends she killed.

Alex- I’ll kill you before you even touch her.

Kouga- You couldn’t keep up with me little man.

Alex- I could run circles around you….I’m not going to fight you though due to Kagome.

Kouga- Humph (turns away from Alex) I guess I can let her live a little longer but I will kill her in the end, mark my words.

Alex- I’ll handle you then.

Kagome- Anyways, what is Inuyasha doing and when do you think he will be back?

Alex- He’ll be back by morning, as for what he is doing…He…is….

Kagome- What is it? Did something happen?

Alex- You could say that. Kikyo, she was killed by Naraku right after Inuyasha left you.

Kagome- Kikyo….is dead?

Alex- Yeah I’ll explain what happened. (Alex and Kouga sit and Alex explains what happened to Kikyo)

~after Alex explains what happened to Kikyo~

(Kouga stands up)

Alex- So what are you going to do now Kouga?

Kouga- You said Naraku went south?

Alex- Yeah.

Kouga- I’m going after him. I’m counting on you to protect Kagome, If you don’t I’ll kill you. (Kouga cracks his knuckles)

Alex- Heh. You stay away from Kagura… (Alex cracks his knuckles as well)… and we got an deal.

Kouga- See ya Kagome. (Kouga waves to Kagome as he runs off)

Alex- Are you ok Kagome? You look kind of down.

Kagome- (changes from a sad expression to a normal one) Yeah I just kind of feel bad for Inuyasha and Kikyo’s untimely death.

Alex- I’m gonna tell you something but you must promise not to tell Inuyasha no matter what.

Kagome- Ok I wont tell him. What is it?

Alex- I’m not even completely sure that Kikyo is dead but he cant know that or things wont work out. As Kikyo put it “The strings of fate, once tangled, can never be undone.”.

Kagome- What is that supposed to mean?

Alex- It means if they are destined to meet again they will.
Kagome- So why cant I tell him?

Alex- It may not seem this way but Inuyasha will not be as painful if he thinks she is more than likely dead.

Kagome- I hate to lie to him Alex…

Alex- Some lies help people so it is not really considered a lie, just don’t tell him.
Kagome- Ok, I’ll try not to mention it.

Alex- Good. We should get some sleep. We have a long way to go before we get back.

Kagome- (yawns) Yeah all this stuff has got me exhausted so I’ll see you in the morning. (Kagome turns and goes to get ready for bed)

Alex to himself- I hope you are resting in peace Kikyo. And if you, by some miracle of God, are still alive don’t be resentful of Inuyasha for not saving you. It was my fault, I didn’t tell him about you….If you have to hate somebody hate me.

~the next morning with Alex~

(Alex wakes up, stands, and looks around)

(Inuyasha is walking towards Alex)

(Inuyasha stops next to Alex because Alex says something to him) (Alex and Inuyasha have their heads lowered a little bit)

Alex- Well, are you satisfied?

Inuyasha- I cant forget her, no matter what. I will never be satisfied, because I didn’t save her.

Alex- You know if you keep on searching for Kikyo it will hurt you and Kagome’s relationship.
Inuyasha- Huh? (Inuyasha lifts his head) Oh yeah I know. I wont go on searching whole heartedly.

Alex- (Alex lifts his head and puts his hand on Inuyasha’s shoulder) If it is destined that you and Kikyo are to meet again then that is when you will meet her, no earlier. I suggest moving forward until then.

Inuyasha- I know. Thanks man. (Inuyasha walks up to Kagome who has just woke up)

Kagome- Inuyasha…

Inuyasha- I’m glad you are ok. Sorry I left you and didn’t come back for a while.

Kagome- It’s ok I understand.

Inuyasha- Lets get going then.

Kagome- Alright lets go home.

(everyone gets up and starts to head back south)
