"We should get back to Kaede-sama's hut and try to explain ourselves.I think I can convince them that it was just a unusual accident that caused us to end up in the position they found us in" Miroku sounded confident that he could pull it off. //I can't wait to hear this one// They both walked back to the village,staring at the ground and not saying a word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Though he looked somber on the outside,Naraku was grinning inwardly. //Kukukuku,he didn't notice my new diguise.Of course,he was to distracted by other things to notice that I am not the monk// He had killed the real Miroku a week ago,dumping him in a unused well.He had sealed it tightly too,so the monk couldn't escape.He couldn't afford to have Miroku escape like Kagewaki did.Naraku silently seethed with anger,remembering when the young lord had showed up out of nowhere.He would pay with his life when this was over,Naraku would see to it. //But how did he survive in the first place?// ((((((((Flashback)))))))))) "Father,please wait" Naraku paused,waiting for his "son" to catch up.The real lord was dead,along with the spider demon who had taken his place.Naraku had planned to kill it later,but the sick mortal behind him had done it for him.The taijiya had been obliterated,now he just had to kill the new lord and take his place.Not that it would take much,he was half-dead even now. "Take your time,my son.Your illness must be causing you pain" He looked back at the young man with feigned compassion.It was suprising that Kagewaki had been able to kill the spider demon so easily,cause he could barley walk.With every violent fit of harsh coughing,Naraku thought that he would die where he stood.They were only a short distance from the abandoned well where the body of the real lord lay. When they finally reached it,the young man sat down beside it,exausted. "Father,are you sure this is where the spider's nest is?" Naraku turned his back and smiled,then he transformed into his new form.The look on his victim's face was priceless,the look someone would have if they just saw their father change into a exact copy of themselves.Naraku didn't wait for him to react,he grabbed him by the throat and pushed him down the well.Despite being serverely ill,Kagewaki managed to stop himself from falling and pull out his katana.He thrust it through Naraku's chest.Of course,this didn't harm the hanyou in any way. "Who are you?" "I am you now,and you are dead"With that,Naraku pushed him down and watched as he faded into the darkness of the well.He didn't even wait to hear the sound of the young man's body landing in the empty pit.He walked away,pulling the katana out of his chest,sparing one glance back at the well. "Thanks" ((((((((((((End flashback)))))))))) Naraku had belived that Kagewaki had died in that well,up until a week ago when he showed up at the castle doors.He was gaunt,almost a skeleton,but still alive.The servents were shocked at his appearence,but believed his about Naraku being a demon.Apparantly,Kagewaki had a scar on his upper arm that nobody except the servents knew about.Naraku fled,not wanting to waste his time on mere humans now.He found the monk with Inuyasha later that night.Thay had escaped from the Temple of Innocence,the worm charmer had failed.Seeing them together,bodies intwined,gave him an idea.He would destroy Inuyasha a second time,in the same way he destroyed him with Kikyou.So,the next night when Miroku had gone off alone to collect firewood,Naraku made his move.Rendering the monk unconscious breifly,Naraku found a well near the tample .Like Kagewaki,Miroku put up a fight but in the end ended up falling in.After hearing a satisfying splash from inside the well,Naraku placed a large stone over the opening.It was heavy so the monk wouldn't be able to lift it if he ever climbed up.He took the monk's form,collected firewood,and then went back to where the other's had set up camp.A week had passed and his presence had gone unoticed by Inuyasha due to a herb that Naraku kept in his robes.It dulled Inuyasha's senses whenever he was near,so that Inuyasha would be able to detect his scent.
