Sesshoumaru had fallen under Inuyasha’s slaughter. His figure shifted into a pearl and was hurled from his father’s grave into a distant valley, away from anyone that would find him.
“SESSHOUMARU!!!!” Toura shot up from his dream that had shown the scene of his ex-lover being deposited somewhere unknown. His ear twitched to something outside his cave.
A loud howl from a dog echoed into the night sky. The howl was in serious pain, showing all the agonized fury it could.
Toura walked from his cave and stood outside, listening. He shook his head in disapproval and transformed into a white tiger demon. He followed the howls for sometime when he reached a deserted field of wild flowers. And there in the center of the field was the giant dog youkai. He inhaled the air through his nostrils and smelt the heavy blood pouring into the flower beds. But something else familiar mingled in the smell, pine and sakura.
The white tiger youkai made his way down into the valley, slowly taking steps over the flowers and analyzing the frantic breathing body. He could see that his left arm was detached from the shoulder down.
The giant dog turned his head in fury toward the tiger, baring his fangs as he did so. He barked with aggravation, warning the other demon to stay away. *Stop! Leave me at once or you’ll see why other demons don’t take me lightly.*
Toura blinked. He recognized those red eyes and the moon shaped crest on his forehead. *Sesshoumaru?* He grumbled lowly.
The dog demon panted and stared for a moment at the tiger youkai. His anger soon settled and then he rested back onto his indent in the grass. He growled softly at the tiger. *Long time no see my beloved Toura. How have you been these past years?*
Toura nodded. *I knew you would remember. It’s been lonely…since I left you.*
*So you are admitting that you did leave me? And here I thought it was all my fault.* Sesshoumaru whimpered. He began panting from the lack of blood that he lost. *You’re still as beautiful as ever.* He was trying to change the subject so not to remember the past.
Toura looked away ashamed. He knew Sesshoumaru was trying to amend the conversation, but he wouldn’t allow it. *I-I couldn’t stay…no matter how much I loved you.*
Sesshoumaru was silent for a moment. *So you didn’t leave me because I was doing something wrong?*
Toura shook his head. *No. I wanted to find where I belonged.*
*You belonged with me. You should have realized that before you left.*
*NO!* Toura growled. *I didn’t mean that. I wanted to find where I belonged in this world. I wanted to know where I needed to go after my brother had died.*
Sesshoumaru slid his head back, crushing the grass blades, to where he could see the moon better behind him. *I still give you the same answer. No matter where you go or where you stay, I’m the one you belong to.*
Toura absorbed this for a moment. He moved closer to his ex-lover and lied down beside him. *I think I see what you mean now. You will always be the one that I’ll run to or think about when I’m lonely.*
Sesshoumaru nodded slowly against the green blades. He smiled weakly when he felt the other’s body cuddling up against his.
*Well, I have been thinking about you … a lot. I want to come back to you, Sesshoumaru.* Toura nuzzled the thick fur on Sesshoumaru’s neck.
Sesshoumaru peered up at the tiger and moved his muzzle to under Toura’s chin. *I have still loved you after all these years. I want you to come back to me as well.*
Toura nuzzled Sesshoumaru’s soft cheek and moved toward his injured shoulder. He delicately licked at the thick blood.
Sesshoumaru watched his mate for a moment and then lied back down. He would heal by morning, but Toura’s tending would slow the bleeding. He soon fell asleep from the tiger youkai’s licks. It would remind him in the morning when he once saved Toura from certain death.
By morning Toura was back in his human form and waiting for Sesshoumaru to awake. The dog demon’s shoulder had stopped bleeding during the night and had healed over. His eyes widened when the sight of Sesshoumaru’s body began to shift.
Sesshoumaru yawned and sat up on what three legs he had left. Last night, was it true that he saw Toura come back and nurse his wound or was it just all a dream? He was startled from his thoughts by a gentle, “good morning.” He turned in the direction of the voice and then began panting and wagging his tail happily. It wasn’t a dream. Toura had returned to him during the night.
Toura chuckled. “That’s the second time that I have ever seen you so happy, Sesshy.”
Sesshoumaru perked up his ears and barked at the sound of his nickname. He ignored it and licked at the young youkai’s face in small licks and nuzzled him under the neck. *What can I say Toura. I’ve missed you after all this time.* He reformed back into his human appearance, and now was pressing Toura’s body against his. “I still love you, my dear, dear, Toura.” He planted light kisses up and down the tiger demon’s neck. “You haven’t found any other demon while you were away did you?”
Toura smiled and shook head. “No.”
Sesshoumaru stroked the soft white hair of his lover and the velvet skin on his cheek. He never noticed before, but tiger strips had formed on Toura’s face and hair over the years. “You have changed considerably. I can’t believe I have missed this.”
Toura nodded. “Yes. I’m older now, Sesshoumaru. I’m not as incompetent as I used to be.”
Sesshoumaru shook his head. “You were never useless my beloved. I loved you. It was a good enough reason for me on why you ever existed. ”
Toura lifted his face up to his the older youkai’s and kissed him passionately. He broke the kiss and looked into Sesshoumaru’s eyes. “I think you need to mark me as your own now. If I leave then no other demon can touch me. I’ll only belong to you.”
Sesshoumaru smiled and moved his lips to under Toura’s neck, lifting it to where he had better access. He licked at a certain area and gently inserted his fangs.
Toura winced at the sting, but soon relaxed and let the older demon mark him as his own. Sesshoumaru wrapped his lips over the marks and lapped up the blood. “Mmm. You still taste so good.”
Toura moaned as the older youkai began to lick harder. “Sesshy, that feels so good.” His hands wrapped around the dog youkai’s back, holding him for all the warmth that was there.
Sesshoumaru groaned and pulled back. “Don’t ever let go of me.”
Toura purred and nuzzled into Sesshoumaru’s kimono. “I won’t.”

They say destiny keeps lovers together. Some people don’t know how true that is. So will destiny keep these two together, or will the years to our present time separate them?
