Before Prometheus brought fire to humans, or paradise was lost or whatever myth you choose to relate to, early humans were in touch with the non-physical world. In the same way that newborn infants have an undifferentiated sensory experience of their environment, humans could look up into the sky and commune with the gods of the stars. As it became part of our evolutionary journey to "forget" who the gods are and rely increasingly on our logic, knowledge and free will, legends and myths were the only remnants of the primordial wisdom we were once privileged to.

Astrology and other ancient traditions have recently become en vogue again as human are beginning to want to remember that there is more to life than that which the 5 senses can perceive. We are beginning to strive to regain our previous insights and clairvoyance.

Astrology at it's best is not fatalistic, overly predictive or restricting. Many present day astrologers talk about potentials, psychological propensities, attractions and repulsions.

You may have many talents, but no one can make you use them. You may encounter many obstacles, but they are always challenges to become stronger.

The following elements are part of how astrologers can put together a pictorial story for an astrological reading:

Planets-Each planet symbolizes particular sides of your character. For example:

¤ Venus reveals money, love and beauty values.

¥ Mars stands for action and passion.

¦ Jupiter stands for fortune and higher thought.

¡ ¢ £ ¤ ¥ ¦ § ¨ © ª

Asteroids will be included in your reading!

±  ²  ³  ´  µ

As well as some mathematical points:

«  ¬    °

The Glyphs in the chart you will receive will represent these energies. The signs and houses filter their energies through the planets, much as a colored lens filters the image thrown by a stage-light, or received by a camera. Or better yet, each of these elements are the instruments, score and tempo in the symphony of your life!

Signs

˜ š œ

Aries through Pisces... We are familiar with the Sun Signs. They are quadrants in the sky viewed from the earth, which represent a cosmic and psycho-spiritual journey of evolution: from nascent awareness of self to relations with other individuals to reunion with the group unconscious.

Houses

Echo the sign values with a by-the-minute vibration. 12 houses in the 24 hours of the day correspond to the 12 months. The first house is your "Rising Sign" or Ascendant.

Aspects

Geometric relationships among planets are called aspects. Some aspects have been shown to generate problematic events in our lives, while others seem to smooth the path.

I freely quote from various authors including: Robert Hand, Liz Greene, Betty Lundsted, Melanie Reinhart, Demetra George, Julia and Derek Parker, Martin Schulman, Karen Hamaker-Zondag, Marc Edmond Jones, Erin Sullivan, Robert Pelletier and many other great astrologers and thinkers.

Please remember that the point of Astrology is to raise one's consciousness. Please do not allow feelings of fatalism or destiny cloud your thoughts as you read or listen to astrological interpretation. We are all exactly where we need to be on our journey, and we are all able to make of our lives whatever we please.

"That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere, and that the present only exists for it, not he shadow of the past, nor the shadow of the future?"

"That is it," said Siddhartha, " and when I learned that, I reviewed my life and it was also a river, and Siddhartha the boy, Siddhartha the mature man and Siddhartha the old man, were only separated by shadows, not through reality. Siddhartha's previous lives were not also in the past, and his death and his return to brahama are not in the future. Nothing was, nothing will be, everything has reality and presence. "

Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
