" Hi All,
First of all I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get this email out - I'm just a lazy SOB. Shan and I finally made it out to sunny CA!! I got the final contract signed off in early January and I started working on the 2nd of Feb. It was really nice to take the month off to see family and friends that we hadn't seen in a while. Then we spent a week driving from Ohio over to CA. We even had time to stop and see this big hole in Arizona (Grand Canyon I think is was called;-).
After two days in the walnut creek office (located just outside of San Francisco) I was transferred out to a construction site in Fresno, CA (about 3 hours SE of San Fran). I knew about this transfer when i signed on, but it just made things that much more crazy. The job out here in Fresno is great and this gives us a chance to re-acclimate to the US and our new location. MWH has once again set us up in a company house for the 3-4 months that we'll be in Fresno. We almost feel like we're back in England except we now have orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees in our yard, there is lots of Mexican food to eat, we don't live next to a Pub, we don't know all of our neighbors, and oh yeah its always sunny here!! But best of all we're just over an hour to Yosemite and Sequoia National Forests.
We should be returning to San Fran by late May/early June. So if anyone is going to be in the area let us know and I'll try to set up a meeting with Governor Schwarzenegger!
