In the year 2125, an Earth freighter came across a passing alien ship that was adrift and nearly destroyed. After an effort was made to rescue the badly damaged ship the only survivor found in the floating wreckage was a baby. It would later be presumed the ship fell under attack by raiders and abandoned.

Three years had passed when the boomers who found him reached Earth. "Donavan" was quickly adopted by a family living in San Diego, California where he was raised.

Donavan has known his entire life that he wasn't human. He looked like a human, and was raised by humans, but his physiology did not match anything in the Star Fleet medical database. He didn't know what he was, but that didn't stop him from living life. His parents accepted him as if he were their child, and his brothers and sisters treated him no different.

It was required by Star Fleet and the United Earth Government that Donavan be tested every year to monitor his growth and progress. He quickly grew working relationships with the scientests who studied him annually, and often obliged Donavan when he showed keen interest in exobiology. With his parent's encouragement he excelled in science.

Given his mysterious past, he felt it was right to enlist in Star Fleet right out of college. He excelled in math and biology, and had a keen interest in exobiology. He was determined to be in Star Fleet so he may one day discover where he comes from.
