Vienna and Eastern Europe
Vienna's Schonbrun Palace
Austria
A good case can be made that Schonbrun in Vienna, Austria is Europe's most attractive palace.  It's colorful with lovely gardens, but neither too large nor absurdly ornate.  The picture above shows the front of Schonbrun.
From the rear gardens, it's impossible to take a bad picture of Schonbrun, also spelled as Schonbrunn.
The royal family that lived here was the Habsburgs, rulers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which failed to survive losing World War I.
An example of Schonbrun's interior decorations.
I think Schonbrun is at its best with the gardens included.
