Turkish Women Farmworkers
This was a photographic tour in which anyone could decide to stop and take pictures.  That often led into the fields, where all the farmworkers turned out to be women.  They were surprised by such attention, but very kind to us.  These agricultural visits were never my idea, but I adapted.
Clearly this was hot and strenuous work.   Our arrival usually led to an unscheduled break, which the women did not mind.  The only men I remember seeing were bosses/owners lying in the shade under large trees.
But we were looking for pictures of the women actually working, which meant an end to the break.
They are planting tobacco, a widespread domestic crop consumed by Turkish men.  For the record, Turkey's official national drink is tea; but the unofficial national disease is smoking.
