Murray is an accomplished songwriter with several gospel CDs to his credit. In 2000 he was awarded "Songwriter of the year" by the Country Gospel Music Association (based in Branson Missouri) for the northwestern division. As well as playing with "In Transit", he is part of the country gospel band "Jordan Echoes" who have also recieved several awards from the CGMA. Murray also enjoys writing poetry and has several of his works published through the International Library of Poetry. On occasion he performs a single act with a blend of music and comedy. All this goes along with a full time position as Bus Operator for the City of Red Deer for 20 years.
