TOURS AND SERVICES
All traditionnal tours include round-trip transportation, exclusive observations, snack service. The tour leaves about 15 minutes before sunset from (and comes back) from your lodging in La Serena (with previous notifications). Our services include exclusive tours for up to 9 passengers and tours for groups up to 30 people. We don't recommend you bring children under 5. In the Astro-Tour and Moon-Tour, the following people benefit of a 10% discount: senior people (above 60), students (justify your institution). The symbol $ means Chilean pesos (1US$=$530 in October 99). All prices include sales tax (IVA).
The transfer time to the observation spot varies between 20 and 50 minutes depending on the weather conditions. The observing spots are prepared by the Municipality of La Serena, Sernatur and Intijalsu Tour
1. ASTRO-TOUR :
: the best of astronomy! Includes observations of all interesting objects in the sky: Moon, planets, galaxies, clusters, nebulae, satellites,...Duration: 4h30
2. ASTRO-MOON :
every month, we do tours dedicated to observing the Moon when it is in a luminous" phase which prevents ust o see the other objects from the deep-sky. We observe the Moon (this is the most fantastic vision for the ones who observe for the first time through a telescope, the planets and we learn to recognize the constellations. In the 28-day lunar cycle (full Moon = day 14), this tour goes out on days 9-10-11-12-16-17.Duration: 2h30
3. ASTRO-STUDENT and ASTRO-DELEGATIONS:
end-of-the-year tour, college class, seminars, business visits,,, Includes only the observation and the relevant teaching material. Transportation and snack: consult us.)Duration: 4h 00
4.:
practical course specific for primary and secondary schools. We put at your disposition our mobile observatory and a guide specially trained to talk about solar astronomy to students. Advantages: we go to the patio of your school, students and teachers can observe the sun and its dark spots safely, they learn how telescopes and the sun work! The observation is done preferably in the afternoon. You ned to schedule several possible days for the observing. If the sky is clear on any of the scheduled days, we will confirm during the morning. Your school must be organized into groups of 20-30 students which will observe one after eachother for 30 min in the patio.Duration: 3h 00 (20-30 minutes per group)

4.:
night time course specific for primary and secondary schools. We put at your disposition our mobile observatory and a guide specially trained to talk about astronomy to students. Advantages: we go to the patio of your school, students learn how telescopes work! The observation starts typically after the sunset. You need to schedule several possible days for the observation. If the sky is clear on any of the scheduled days, we will confirm during the afternoon. The observations are focused mainly onto bright objects like the Moon and the planets.Duration: 3h 00

5. ASTRO-AMATEUR:
full night (free timetable) of observing with use of 3 telescopes and the CCD. Minimum 15 days of notice.Cost: consult us, group of 2 to 6 people
6. ASTRO-OBSERVATORIES: visit of professional astronomical observatories
: Saturdays only (visit at 10h30 and 14h). Consult us. We can make the booking for you. The visits are free, transportation from La Serena:Cerro Tololo: from $10.000. One way: 1h30.
Cerro La Silla o Cerro Las Campanas:from $13.000. One way: 2h30.
