Powers:

Storm's weather-manipulating ability is psionic, and with it she can cause precipitation of moisture in any form, raise or lower temperature and humidity, generate storms of considerable intensity, and create electrical atmospheric phenomena. She can also discharge lightning from her bare hands.
While she can manipulate weather patterns, she can't completely alter them, nor she can create atmospheric conditions that can't exist naturally. For example, she can't lower temperatures as far as absolute zero or raise them to solar intensities.
The weather in Storm's inmediate vicinity changes with her emotions. Dark clouds can gather overhead if she's unhappy. (Remember those lightning bolts!) Storm makes every effort to keep her emotions under control, but she's not always successful.
Her powers can be very specifically localized, to the point where she can create a mini-storm to water a potted plant. In addition, she can create atmospheric effects in a beam-like path radiating from her hand. Her control over the atmosphere is so specific and tightly focused that while creating storms over a large region she can select smaller areas within the storm radius and shield them from her own cyclones.
The mutant X-genes that form the basis of all mutants with super powers appears heavily influenced by emotional and/or psychological state of each mutant. Storm was claustrophobic and living in a rural, natural setting where she felt safe for the first time since early childhood. The open sky and the forces of nature were a psychological focal point for her. It might be more than a coincidence that when her powers manifested, they too focused on the open sky and natural forces. It might also be noted that circumstantial evidence suggests that the raw material available to young mutants seems to affect the nature of their powers. Storm didn't have metal around her, as Magneto, Jean Grey and Professor X did. She had a natural setting, and that became the focus of her power.
For Storm to affect weather and cause a wide variety of meteorological phenomena, she must be able to affect air movement, humidity, particulate matter in the atmosphere, and many other factors. One tool at her disposal is the control of wind.
Storm utilizes the wind to carry herself aloft in a form of flight that resembles gliding. She has also used wind to deflect physical attacks. When she's aloft, Storm can literally travel as fast as the wind, and has reached spedds up to 300 miles per hour. Her body automatically adjusts itself to the surrounding temperature although there's a limit to the stress her body can withstand from such changes.

History:

Storm is descended from an ancient line of African priestesses, all with the potential to wield magic. Her mother, the princess of a tribe in Kenya, married an American photojournalist and moved with him to Manhattan. When Ororo was 6 months old, she and her parents relocated to Cairo, Egypt. Five years later, a bomb destroyed their home. Ororo's parents were killed, but she survived, buried under rubble near her mother's body. This traumatizing experience left Ororo with severe claustrophobia, which still afflicts her today. Homeless and orphaned, she came under the tutelage of master thief Achmed el-Gibar. Ororo soon became his prize pupil.

Years later, feeling a strong urge to head south, Ororo journeyed alone across the Sahara Desert. Finally, she reached her ancestors' homeland: the Serengeti Plain, straddling the modern nations of Kenya and Tanzania. By this time, her mutant ability to manipulate the weather had emerged; she used it to aid the local tribes, who worshipped her as a deity. Ororo played goddess for several years -- until the telepathic, telekinetic Professor Charles Xavier recruited her to help rescue his team of mutant adventurers, the original X-Men, from the island-being known as Krakoa.

Hated and feared for her strange and frightening powers -- not worshipped, as she had been in Africa -- Ororo joined Professor X and his charges in defense of a world on the brink of genetic war. Except for brief periods away from the team, she has remained an X-Man ever since -- even enduring the temporary loss of her mutant abilities to lead the Children of the Atom into battle.

For a time, Storm's loyalties were divided between the X-Men and the Morlocks. Ororo became leader of the underground community of mutants when she fought Callisto, who had gathered together the social outcasts in the sewers beneath New York City, and defeated her in single combat. But during one of Storm's frequent absences from the Morlocks tunnels, the majority of the population was slaughtered by the Marauders -- a team of superhuman assassins employed by the mysterious Mr. Sinister, an obsessed geneticist working to create the world's most powerful mutant. The X-Men were able to help some of the Morlocks to safety, and a considerable number managed to escape the Marauders on their own. Still, news of the massacre sent Storm reeling; she blamed herself for not being there during the Morlocks' time of need.

When Onslaught took over the world Ororo was right by his side. As leader of the X-Men she had several privileges. An encounter with Psylocke made her realize that Onslaught's ways were wrong. She left his side and joined the Resistance. During her brief association she re-met young Alex Summers and had a brief, but intense love affair with him (they kissed, nothing more). Soon after she was drafted, like many others, into the Crimson Dawn-Order of the Phoenix affair. Being one of the Chosen Ones she helped Psylocke to remove the Phoenix from Jean's body, before it would kill her.

Soon afterwards she began having weird dreams, telling her that something happened to her while she was a soldier of Onslaught. She has yet to know what happened during that time or why she can't recall her time with Cable, with whom she shared a deep love.

After Phoenix was dismissed she returned to the Resistance and met Dr Doom, with whom she fell in love with. After Onslaught was defeated she married Doom, and once he became the ruler of Earth she became Empress von Doom. Under his guidance sh ehas started to work on her magickal abilities, and is slowly developing them. She has the potential to be a great witch

Now  her dreams have returned, worse than ever and she feels her love for Doom is not as strong as the love for Alex Summers. She is feeling edgy, too emotional and unreliable.

With her husband gone the role of RULER OF THE WORLD has fallen upon her, though she does not like she steps up, fullfilling her duty. Since the dissapearance of Alex and others she has been feeling stronger, better, more like her former self.

Since becoming Queen of Earth she has discovered a nasty thing her husband did. He actually imprisioned the Fantastic Four!! Still this fact must be kept from the press so Ororo has decided to erase their minds by using Psylocke. She has also decided to return to the X-Mansion,since Castle Doom was destroyed by Onslaught himself. She was also succesful in hurting Venom by depriving him of his family. Since she can't kill him she has settled for making his life miserable.

During the assault on Chicago, Ororo was forced to steal the powers from Wanda, becoming the new Sorceress Supreme. She used the power to end the struggle effortlessly. She also possess now the Eye of Agamotto.

As Ororo grows more comfortable in the role of Empress, the dark side begins to take over...
