I sometimes wish I could fly
above the cares of this world for a day,
soaring through the winds way up on high
amid the wings of peace unscathed.

Mounted upon wings of glory
fit for an aerial abode,
dividing the clouds before me,
streaking the skies of life's unknowns.

I can somehow sense the freedom,
I feel the air beneath my wings.
The hope for joy seems nearer,
for my heart just wants to sing!

I'm flying toward new horizon's,
and leaving behind no debt.
I'll witness the sun's new rising,
and fly till the sun is set.

And once the evening sun has fallen,
I bask in the warmth of your embrace.
I sense you guiding me onward,
I see the peace upon your face.

In my heart, there's no more warring,
you take me where no others fly.

My love, you keep me soaring,
on the wings of a butterfly.
