In my struggle for self no one else truly cared
or truly shared in the fullness of my wealth.
If not for the wisdom of being truly self aware,
I could be snared by the truth of someone else.

Therefore, I was crowned King of the castle,
whose Crown Jewels of Poetic Life rule the world.
Freed from a bond of ball, chain and shackle,
to rule a kingdom with gates laced in royal pearl.

As King, I will judge what is just or unjust,
within a loyal court from atop my royal throne.
I am he upon whom I place all of my trust,
and being King sometimes means I stand alone.

Wherefore, I am the author of my finished faith,
the lifter up of my head should it hang down.
The shield and buckler opposing all in my way
in defense of the King's castle and royal crown.

I am the one who once broke all of the rules,
only to refine them like diamonds in the rough.
Then set them in gold and sport them like Jewels
of poetic life about my hands and royal cuffs.

I am King, he who once set fire to the sun
to warm my soul amid the cold of a bitter past.
Another Jewel of life once all was said and done,
another chance to understand my royal path.

Crown Jewels of Poetic Life
I am the one seated among the stars in the skies,
or, so it may seem to my own paternal few.
The gazer of stars reflecting from Raven's eyes,
a royal fowl beholding life, wondrous and new.

I am the royal cloak should her pain need cover,
her shoulder since one early September's morn.
Amid tragedy all the world would soon discover,
born to avenge all of those who died on 911.

Perched upon my shoulder sits my royal Raven,
companion unto a journey of kingdom come.
Her ebony wings unfold to reveal a royal haven,
a feathered black where all time has just begun.

Amid her wings I saw visions of life born anew,
a bird's eye view of soaring angels taking flight.
Flying high above the chaos of a tortured few,
two castles fall, soon to shine as beams of light.

Illuminating darkened skies for blinded families
who seek to spy a loving angel hovering above.
Raising her torch, stands the Statue of Liberty,
atop her copper pedastal, blazing a fire of love.

The stars burn bright like holy lights of amber
beneath a cover of night amid Raven's wings.
I arose from her ebony feathers of September
to the castle where words of life reign as King.

And to capture the dream within my kingdom,
for I am the giver of light to a darkened path.
I'm he who rules with Jewels of poetic wisdom,
maker of wine from the sour grapes of wrath.

The anointed, bringing life as from a scripture,
he who is crowned to be the royal King of kings.
I am a thousand words giving worth to a picture,
and the words of life that make freedom ring!

Thank you for taking the time to read my poetry.  Each Jewel has a special meaning to me, and have grown on a great many fans.  For you, a favorite quote: "In all thy getting, get an understanding."
