Heed the call of the wild
forever restless and frantic.
Where honor is never defiled,
and cunning runs silently rampant.

Unspoken laws of "kill or be killed"
from who speak the law of the land,
and whose blood is spilled for a meal
wherefore a King reclaims his stand.

Only the strong shall survive
where survival of the fittest is key.
You must fight to stay alive,
and you must fight to remain free!

Be not weary  in your heart
though you seldom sleep or slumber,
for a predator lurks in the dark
choosing the prey that feeds its hunger.

'Tis in this saddened madness
where I lay resting in peace.
Amidst a maddening sadness,
lo', I am the King of beasts!

Wise to the wiles of the jungle,
a warrior of mortal combat.
King to the meek and humble,
a Lion to the foes of my pack!

Whose mane displays vivid wisdom,
whose name is recalled with a grin,
King through the next millennium
resting in the comforts of my den.

Thank you for taking the time to read my poetry.  Each Jewel has a special meaning to me, and have grown on a great many fans.  For you, a favorite quote: "In all thy getting, get an understanding."
