-late afternoon- "Disappointed the threat is gone get nostalgic for bombing runs." Sorry, no April Fool's jokes. Too much homework to do.

-evening- "The World is not enough": I just got back from seeing "The World is not enough". It's funny because there are two ways you can look at this movie; as a Bond film, or as a movie in general. Of course, the latter just wouldn't be fair. As number 19 (or 20, depending on how you count it) this Bond movie is part of an incomparably long movie tradition few other series see. It works so well because almost any fairly generic espionage-terrorism story can be plugged into the basic Bond formula: action scene at the beginning, establish villains and allies, several more action sequences, a betrayal, action, hero is captured, hero escapes, kills villain, saves the day. Like the other '90s Bond's movies, this one is well put together and has clean special effects, a payoff from the six-year breather the genre took after 1989's "License to Kill". The worst thing about this movie is the deplorable Denise Richards as Christmas Jones, one of those actresses who seems attractive at first, but then as you watch her on the screen, you realize there is something wrong you can't quite put your finger on. I think it has something to do with the shape of her face. Sample Richard's dialogue (in whiny, monotonous voice)- "You want to translate that into English for those of us who don't speak spy?" The rest of her dialogue is composed of similarly obnoxious plot pushing lines that tie together Brosnan's action scenes. Not that he doesn't have some zingers of his own: "I thought Christmas only came once a year." All in all though, this movie has some nice original action sequences and Richard's character is minimized enough to keep her from ruining the movie. ** 1/2
-afternoon- Alright, so I got the website pretty much up. This server is faster and it has a freer format, which is nice particularly for the photos. If there is anything really wrong with this site, please let me know so I can fix it, some of the screw ups won't show up on my computer or won't be immeadiately apparent to me. The old website is still around, I will keep it up rather than transfer everything. All the old pictures from December to mid-March are there, plus a lot of other interesting stuff. Take a look. I bought some stamps yesterday, and they were actually sort of cool looking, with tropical fish. I'm really sick of the flag, berries, and New Year baby designs and the fish ones are much better. Of course when I got home, I looked closer and saw the fish were not in the ocean as I had assumed, but in an aquarium. I didn't even notice until I saw the ugly metallic filter in the background. That was depressing; why can't the fish just be in the ocean?

This may or may not be the new website. Hopefully this one will be better, as in a more convenient format, particularly with pictures. More to come soon.
