THE BOARD:

of the TEXT)
"Square board consisting of one hundred alternate black and orange squares."(APPENDIX)
There is no difference between the TEXT and APPENDIX descriptions, thus this is taken as
a STRICT rule.
The board is placed with the black square to the left. This does not give either side an
advantage but eliminates the potential of argument.(This is not mentioned in either the TEXT
or the APPENDIX but is presented here as a rule.)
