       I am Arul Kumar (Paranthaman). I was born and brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family. My father was a Hindu priest and I was grew up with my father. Right after my higher secondary studies I applied for engineering (B. E). But I could not get admission. It raised bitterness in my heart against my community and god. I decide to earn money and went to Bombay to get a job. Earning money became my life.

       I earned money in unpleasant ways for my lively-hood. That let me slowly in to smoking and drinking. There was no one to love me and take care of me. I hated my life. I was counting the days until I died. I decided to commit suicide.

LIVING WORD

I continued to read the bible and grow closer to God. During that time I met Shalom (Peace to you) team of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Bombay. Through them, I heard about the Discipleship Training School (DTS), which is a school to train Christians to grow mature in there in Christ. God opened the door for me to go to the DTS/Madras in January 1996.

In 1998 July I came to Chennai. The Lord placed me in a village called Padappai. Now I am reaching with His word here and around Padappai. Presently I am doing ministry in a Village called Venpakkam.

Please pray for our spiritual growth and ministry. Now we are working among the un-reached children and non Christians in the remote villages, among aids patients, conduting children camps, children clubs, youth camps, Gospel meetings, Prayer Cells and I depend on gifts from individuals like you who would like to partnership with me in this ministry.

These words made me realize that there is one God, who is "JESUS CHRIST". He dide for my sins and I found the love and acceptance from God. I receieved Jesus as my personal SAVIOUR AND LORD. The guilt of my sinswas gone up. I found Joy and securities in future life full of hope in God's Love.

ACCEPTING HIS WORD

In this time, a Christian believer came to me and shared about the love of God. Even though I was not interested he gave me a Bible. I began to read it and was touched by Exodus 20:3-6 "you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself and idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath of in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments".

ENCOURAGEMENT THROUGH HIS WORD

At first I was afraid to tell others about my experience in Christ. But God spoke to me again through His words, "Do not worry about what to say or how to say it, at the time you will be given what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be your speaking but the sprit of your father speaking through you". (Mat.10: 19,20). After this I have no fear of person, and I got confidence to tell others about this new life experience, that Jesus gave it to me. I took water baptism, and I received the new name of Arul Kumar to become a new person in Christ. my life was changed.

Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Next I went to the School of Evangelism & Pioneering (SOEP) in Siliguri, W. Bengal in January 1997. This school teaches how to share the gospel message with others and aims to forms' teams of committed believers to go to un-reached people groups around the world. The school director, encouraged me to share my faith in Jesus from my heart, to save the lost.
