Greetings to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus!
Information about the ANTI-CONVERTION ACT signed by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, INDIA. This act has not only taken us by surprise but also has immensely grieved us and all the Christians.
We might have to face the following problems as a result of this act:
1. This will prevent us from openly sharing gospel and bringing the people to saving knowledge of Christ.
2. All those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior should have the permission of District Magistrate to take Baptism.
The time frame by which this permission will be granted is a big question mark!!!During this time period of a backlash initiated against these families by the authorities forcing them to reconvert.
3. The various clauses in the act can be used to the disadvantages of our Christian evangelists and Pastors leading to fine and imprisonment on flimsy grounds.
4. New converts will now fear to openly confess, accept Christ and take Baptism.
They could be antagonized by their kith and kin for this.
5. We cannot discuss the gospel openly in our Christian Institution and Schools.
6. The various voluntary and social initiatives that we are presently doing on the basis of love and mercy can be misinterpreted to the extent of being banned.
This act can do great harm to all Christians, Servants of God and churches in Tamil Nadu. This will inhibit the expansion of the Kingdom of God in Tamil Nadu.
Hence the urgent need for all of us Christians to come together and fast and pray to bring about a change in this act/ordinance.
