| Host: Jim Williams Announcer: Dustin O' Dummel (aka Dustin Dumovich) Gametime: 3 times every week Gameplay: This take on the 1990-91 version of Joker's Wild features 3 players answering questions of general knowledge and trying to accumulate enough money to win our game. Amounts from $5-$50 appear on all 3 wheels and determine the amount of money the question is worth. On the third wheel a Joker and an Opponent's Choice Slide comes up. If a Joker pops up, the amount on the wheels is tripled for every correctly answered question within 30 seconds. Get one wrong , the clock stops, and you opponents can steal for the money and control. On an Opponent's Choice, your opponent(s) determine the category (out of 2 choices) to give to the player control. If the player in control is right, they get double the spin. If incorrect in round 1, the opponents each get the original amount of the wheel. If incorrect in round 2, the opponent gets the same doubled amount. In either case, a toss up would determine control. The first to $500 ends round 1 and the top 2 players move to round 2. The first to $1,000 wins the game and plays the dual stage bonus game. The first part of the bonus game is "6 in 60" where the winning player is given 6 multiple choice questions to answer correctly in 60 seconds. Each one right is worth a spin on the Joker machine. Counting the automatic spin earned for winning the game, a player can amass up to 7 spins. On the wheels in the bonus round are cash amounts up to $10,000, cars, trips, and Jokers. If a player lands on 3 Jokers in one single spin, they win the Joker Jackpot which starts at $50,000 and increases by $5,000 every day it is not won. Jokers cannot be frozen after a spin, however prizes can be. Interesting notes in YIM Joker's Wild: The idea of the game was actually pitched as a semi joke by the show's announcer to the show's host. The show's announcer also designed the computer interface for the Joker Machine. |
