| Host: Joe Raygor Announcer: Jim Williams Gametime: On Hiatus, will return soon Gameplay: ICGSN's Chain Reaction plays like the $40,000 Chain Reaction from 1991. Two players compete to guess the common bond in a chain of words. Each word is related to one another and the first letter of each word is given. A chain starts with the first and last words given. Players can build off the first or last word and ask for a letter to help guess the word. Guess it right and you get points. Guess it wrong and yuour opponent can opt for another letter in that word or to work with another word. Point values start at 10 points per word until someone solves the final word and gets 20 points for that word. In successive rounds the points are worth 20/40 for the last, 30/60 for the last, 40/80 for the last, and 50/100 for the last. The person who completes the chain gets to play the Missing Link mini game where a chain of three words is shown. The first word and last word are in place, and the chain between them must be guessed. If you get it without needing a letter you get $1,000. If you need a bonus letter, the jackpot decreases to $500. The first player to accumulate 500 points wins the game. Interesting notes in YIM Chain Reaction: This net game made a trial debut as the $100,000 Chain Reaction with a tournament format. Joe Raygor is known among game show circles as the definitive Rolf Benirschke fan. Rolf, of course, took over for Pat Sajak for the final 6 months of daytime Wheel on NBC. |
