A Detailed Explanation The IBDC Newsletter by mail is published monthly by the Internet Barbie(R) Doll Club or IBDC for its members. It is shipped bi-monthly and is optional to subscribe to. The Barbie(R) Doll is a licensed trademark by Mattel, INC. The Internet Barbie(R) Doll CLub or IBDC, Newsletter and its Leaders are in no way affiliated or sponsored by Mattel, INC. This is how the IBDC Newsletter program will work. I don't know how many of you have been in or are currently in another Barbie(R) doll club, maybe you joined this club because there is no local club by you or you don't like the local club by you, but whatever the reason I think you will find that this new IBDC newsletter program will allow you to feel more like you are in an actual barbie(R) doll club. All you have to do to subscribe is to fill out the form provided for you on the club's website or email the IBDC President. Our IBDC Newsletter program is similar to when you subscribe to a magazine or newspaper, but this newsletter is not a magazine or newspaper. It is a club newsletter printed on sheets of paper in which will be shipped through the US Postal Service and delievered by your local mailman or woman. It will be printed on roughly 20 to 25 pages. Maybe even up to 30 pages in some cases. The binder that comes in your membership/starter kit is especially nice for keeping all these pages together. Then in the future you can look back on these pages as a club year book. The IBDC club newsletter will be filled with great articles, pictures, fun activities, etc. from IBDC members like you. When you start, you get your own personal club binder, I think this is really cool, that you can keep and store all of your newsletter pages in it. You will be able to get your own membership card to place in your purse or wallet. It will be cool to show it to all of your friends. Along with many other things like stickers and a club pencil, etc. You decide how many issues of the IBDC Monthly Newsletter you want and then it will be shipped to you every two months. What will be shipped is pages to go into your binder and perhaps we might have little bonuses depending on the situation. Meaning if we were to have contests or special things for the holidays, but this is not definate. If you are like most people, you get busy, you don't get a chance to get on a computer or someone else is always on it, you are not a computer whiz, your internet access is too slow, etc. and you may not have the time to be sitting around trying to find what you want. This program will give you a chance to relax a little bit, get involved a little better, and get the information you need as well as getting your information to the club. This program is also great for a friend that doesn't have a computer or the internet. Everyone in the program will be able to create the pages that go into this binder. In other words, all the IBDC members who participate in this program, are the writers and readers of it. All you have to do is submit your entry. 99 times out of 100 your entry will be in the next issue or in a future one. I myself find this to be very cool. In fact, the reason why I started this club is so that other barbie fans or collectors like me could interact with others who also are fans or collectors. I personally think it is interesting learning from others, seeing what they do and how they collect barbie and other dolls, playing fun activities, meeting new barbie pals is fun, seeing what is out there, looking back on the vintage barbies as well as taking a look at the brand new ones. I think this newsletter will provide that. I think it will be cool to have another club member's email address attached to what they wrote and then you yourself can respond by telling them what you think. You will be able to add anything to the book or binder you would like. For example: articles about dolls or the club, some of your own pictures, stories, drawings, recipees, sewing techiques, restoration tips, your collection, you (a little about yourself), coloring book pages, copy or picture of your convention or doll show suveniors, show and tell, your views, poems, what you see happening, What you are looking for, What you are selling, Advertise your business for a small fee, etc. Plus, it might give us a chance to have things like "Vote which club doll you like best," Barbie(R) Bingo, videos, contests, games, etc. Then whatever you have to share, can be mailed to the IBDC President. I then in return will go and make copies, put the pages together and/or arrange them, add my own pages and send them all to the members who are participating in this program. The editors of this program have every right to rearrange things, correct grammer and spelling mistakes, as well as take out anything that is considered in appropiate. It will not be anything fancy, but will be something that you can enjoy and keep for future years. The pages most likely will be black and white photo copies, but will be great to read and enjoy. The problem with this club is that you don't see faces. This program will allow members to submit their portrait and maybe even a picture of their collection to get better aquainted with other members of our club. We have members all over the globe. So, it should be pretty interesting reading about others in our club. Plus, there will be activities, articles, etc. Possibly even contests, games, and even more. It would be nice for you to join this program so that you can see what others look like and how others collect their dolls. It might even be possible that you may make a friend and be able to help one another. You will be able to find out more on what is going on in the club, doll info, and be able to participate in special events for the IBDC members of this program only. It also gives you a chance to share with others and a whole lot more! And don't worry, everything you submit to this program off-line will remain private among our IBDC club members. Keeping things private was a main concern and this would keep things private and off the internet where anyone is allowed access to it. Basically, You will be able to share things without being a computer wiz and most importantly whatever you submit will remain within our own club only and off the internet. I think you will find by joining this program, having both an on-line/off-line relationship, will help make things better for you, in our club. There will be a small fee for the ones who are participating. Noticed I said for the ones who are participating. This program is optional to IBDC members and is not a replacement for the club. Infact, your on-line membership will still be free, but for those who want more out of the club by having a since of a real belonging can join this program. If you decide to participate then you are required to pay the starter kit fee and then another additional small fee for each monthly issue you want. A reminder will be sent when your subscription is about to run out. You will be able to quit the program at anytime by not paying the continuing fee for each monthly issue. Those who continue paying their fee will remain in the program. This will go for copying fees, my time to dedicate to this project, and whatever else we need to run this program. |
