Anupama Chandratreya
Anupama is a versatile vocalist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Anupama�s repertoire includes a wide variety of all Gayaki (singing) styles including Hindustani Classical, Light Indian Vocal, Ghazal, Bhajan, Bhavgeet and Folk music. Anupama is one of the few vocalists with an unique ability to excel in more than one particular style of vocal music. Anupama Chandratreya is a rare combination of natural talent and grace, with an uncanny ability to sing in a way that speaks to your heart.

Raised in Pune (Maharashtra) India, Anupama was groomed at a very young age in Hindustani Classical music by her mother Dr. Jyoti Dhamdhere. Anupama received further training under the able guidance of Ustad Mohomad Hussain Khan and T.D. Janorikar, both well known from the Bhindi Bazaar Gharana. The Bhindi Bazaar Gharana specific ideology indicates presentation based on the system of Meerkhand, a systematic methodology of improvization and clear intonation. Reknowned artist Smt. Veena Sahasrabudhe has also coached Anupama in refining her Hindustani vocal music training.
Anupama has performed in several music events and delighted audiences in India, USA and Canada, for more than twenty years. Anupama has performed Marathi bhav-geet concerts with noted music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Yashwant Deo and other well-known artists, at several events.

Anupama established her own Saptak Music School in Cupertino to preserve, develop and propagate Indian classical and traditional music. She has a large student base from all ages. Today she is recognized as a fine mentor, teacher and artist in the San Francisco Bay area.Anupama has released her maiden Ghazal CD �Saugat� and �Pandharichya Vate� a cassette of devotional Marathi songs to her credit. Other than music, Anupama works as a teacher at Challenger School.
