| Lineup: The 3,4,5 is probably one of the tops in the league, but the top of the lineup is weak, unless Macias has another good sim season and Long's MLB season doesn't take down next year's sim #s. Rotations: The starting four is decent, but if Jennings erupts in the sim like in MLB, he could be a solid ace. It's pretty old, which could hurt. Bullpen: The pen has a lot of different faces, with a mix of lefties and righties, but no solid name. Bench: The bench is average, with some decent offense and defense. Noone he'd love to start, but wouldn't mind. Dmitri Young and Gabe Kapler are good. Minors: The minor leagues has a lot of good, young starters and a great reliever in Francisco Rodriguez. Dee Haynes in AA could get the call-up next season, too. Short team history (while you've run it): I've rid myself of Yankees, which was mission #1. But I think I've put together a solid team compared to what I started with. Picking up Arod/Thome as my 3/4 hitters compared to Mo Vaughn/Reggie Sanders when I started is huge. Strengths/weaknesses: Could use some speed and a solid closer. Definitely has the power hitters to hit the long ball in Enro...err..Tropicana Field. Over/under (who overperformed, who underperformed): Arod was at .242 when I started, but brought it up to .280 at the end of the season with 50 homers. Jose Macias had seven triples, 16 hrs, 80 rbi, 26 sb(somewhere around there). Farnsworth in real life is a disappointment, as is Dennys Reyes. What you feel you did right or wrong. The only deal I regret is Sanders for Kapler and Wayne Franklin. Every other deal I'm happy with. What I did wrong...maybe not skipping out of the NL Central when I had a chance. The Future...Next season will be interesting. I'm happy with my team, but I don't know if it can compete. It's solid, but doesn't have the names like Cinci or Pitt does. We'll see... |
