| Team Profile/History - One of the original 30 GM's. Snuck into first place less than a month ago after Detroit dominated all season, now has a 5 game lead. Lineup - Scary lineup, though it was better with A-Rod. Zaun and Mohr aren't great, but the major bats hiigher in the order more than makes up for it. This lineup has scored more runs than any other in the IBC, including Colorado. Bench - Very shallow, not good. Defense - Zaun and Durham are both defensive strongholds. Glaus and Jeter are liabilities (Note on Jeter, yeah, his error totals are low, but his range is only fair. Making a few lucky plays in the WS has earned him more credit defensively than he truly deserves) Rotation - Chicago we have a problem. Recently dealt for Pettite, rpior to that the rotation looked like an open wound, a very vulnerable target. Has allowed the 8th most runs in the IBC so far this season. Pettite is a good lefty, but this team has no true Ace. Bullpen - Some good arms here, especially Gagne, though there's also some fodder (Fassero). Minors - Not a lot of really young prospects, though a lot of guys who can be useful now in the event of an injury or to suplement a trade. Overall Grade - B+ The starting pitching needs to be better for this team to make it anywhere in the playoffs, but the offense is just unbelievable. Over/Under Over - Garland, a beneficiary of Huge run support. Under - Gagne, mediocre in the sim, lights out in the MLB. Next year he'll be scary in the sim. Prescription - An Ace, an absolute must. |
