| Team History Sean has been in the league since the beginning and has handled the league very well. he has had the misfortune of playing in a tough divison, but has still managed to do okay. Lineup - The O's will have a much better lineup than last year, starting with leadoff mn Erstad. While sometimes inconsistent, he's asmart player who can do a lot for a team. Sheffied, Sexson and Ortiz provide some good pop in this lineup. Ramirez is a solid 3b but the real surprise is Hatteberg who blossomed with the A's in the MLB compiling a .374 OBP in almost 500AB's Bench - Not bad, some good young guys who could definitely contribute this season as starters or bench guys, particularly Mourneau and Bradley/ Defense - Erstad and Lugo are the only plus defenders, but Erstad is definitely one of the Best CFers in the game Rotation - No match for the rotations to the north in this divison, but still respectable, led by Odalis and followed by Kip Wells. gtets a little shallow towards the bottom, but castillo as a carry-over helps a lot. Bullpen - Stronger than the rotation. Reed, Sauerbeck and Williams all had excellent years in 02 and should repeat in '03. Mullen was pretty good too. Minors - Some very good prospects in Bonderman and Bradley. Bradley doesn't throw har, but he has exceptional control. Not much here to back up the big leaguers in the event of an injury though. Grade/Prescription - B-, no dominant part to the roster, though the pen is prety sharp, and stuck in a divison with two potentially dominant teams. Put him in the AL Central and see what he does, or wait out the Titans, both have potential injury/age issues. |
