There is another on the nature strip. Both need to be URGENTLY removed.

The sandstone �street works� including fences, walls around private property, garages, street retaining walls and dividing walls, as well as kerb and guttering are an important part of the character of the area and evidence of local quarrying.

Interwar Precinct (1920s-1930s) of brick cottages with one earlier (c1910) timber cottage (No 8). 4 & 6 most intact. Controls would assist management.

Chesterfield Avenue, BRONTE 
Victorian terraces, villas, Inter-War houses. Many not intact but the street demonstrates variety and evolution as a largely Victorian and Interwar mix. This may be due to sub-division and later infill development- the history needs investigating. Demonstrates the significant periods of development in the Bronte area. Street tree planting is currently protected but gardens- the landscape setting of the house should have some protection.

House 1 Albert Lane, BRONTE (between Yanko Ave & St Thomas St) (not Albert Street as listed in current Heritage Schedule). Timber Federation cottage.

As for Chesterfield, this may be due to sub-division and later infill development- the history needs investigating. Demonstrates the significant periods of development in the Bronte area. Sections of the street could be considered for a Conservation Area, and/or some individual heritage items eg no 28 Lugar.

Conservation Area could encompass most of Lugar Street but should include at least from the before the bend in Lugar St up to Macpherson St intersection. Should include nos 43,35,33,27,23,17,13,11,9 and 32,22,20,18,16,6,4 & 2.

All original sandstone fences and brick fences should be protected.

Commercial & residential 479-491 Bronte Rd, BRONTE Face brick 1930-40s building, projecting cement rendered & detailed balconies. Mostly intact. Fine shopfronts, leadlight highlight windows, intact tiled �Grace Court� entrance. (The whole building is an intact enough interwar building to warrant listing as a heritage item. If this is not possible, at least the below awning shopfronts to 477, 485, 487, 489 as well as the entrance to �Grace Court� should be listed as heritage items ie part building)

Flats 5,7&9 Brae St, BRONTE 3 blocks of Inter-War Flats in line. Cohesive scale, streetscape and interesting brick detailing. Intact. (should not be rendered as is the currrent fashion)
Houses 6-24 Brae St, BRONTE Single storey workers cottages. Have suffered from bad management & intrusive work, but are still significant in this area-not many examples of rows of humble houses listed. Could be properly managed by listing as Conservation Area or heritage items to encourage appropriate work to reconstruct & restore original details.

Landscape elements Tamarama Reserve, Tamarama Marine Drive, TAMARAMA Path down from Tamarama Marine Drive into the park has wonderful 1920s-30s �toothed� sandstone edging (Depression �susso� work?) and sandstone retaining wall below the road level. The sandstone elements (and whole Park) should have heritage protection.
Landscape elements Path and steps up the southern hillside to houses, Tamarama Marine Drive, and up to Thompson St between 21 & 23 Thompson St, TAMARAMA.  1920s-30s �toothed� sandstone edging and narrow path. These are vulverable works that are easily lost. Probably also depression works. Leads down to toothed path down from Tamarama Marine Drive into the park.
