Conference on Work and Poverty, June 1-3 at SUNY Albany - Interested in this conference on welfare, work, and poverty co-sponsored by SENSES and other statewide groups? Cost $175. National and state experts including Barbara Ehrenreich and Frances Fox Piven, co-authors of The Mean Season: The Attack on Social Welfare, will be here. Sr. Lee is organizing an interfaith workshop where faith-based congregation and organization leaders can learn what local welfare efforts are happening in other parts of the state.

Iraq Wednesday Noon Peace Actions, Etc. - Want to end economic sanctions against Iraq? Join us - on Wednesdays at noon in front of the Capitol steps, and at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Washington Avenue Armory. A meeting at 5:30 p.m. follows in the Albany Public Library. Candidate Civility Pledge Letter Ready to Sign May 6 - The local chapter of the Interfaith Alliance will begin gathering signatures at their May 6 8:30 a.m. meeting hosted by the Roman Catholic Pastoral Center, 40 North Main St. in Albany.
