Press Conference on Farmworkers
Bishop Howard Hubbard will be at the March 24 Farmworker Fast with labor and legislative leaders at 11 a.m. on the East Capitol Steps in Albany. The press conference is part of a Forty Hour Fast co-sponsored by the NYS Labor-Religion Coalition. The fast begins at 8 p.m. March 24 and ends Thursday noon, with a closing gathering at the Episcopal Cathedral of All Saints on North Swan Street. Details: (518) 459-5400, ext. 6294.

Diocesan Welfare Subcommittee
The Public Policy Subcomittee on Welfare reform will continue its efforts to bring policy questions to the county level. Last month Sr. Lee initiated a bimonthly newsletter with a primary education and advocacy focus on anti-poverty issues and events. Two upcoming events that might be helpful for those interested in welfare issues are:

School of the Americas Update
Syracuse Peace Action is sponsoring a one-day bus trip to Washington for the SOA April Vigil on April 26. Cost: $40. Call Diane Swords at (315) 478-7442.

Interfaith Alliance Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 10, at St. Joseph's Provincial House, 385 Watervliet-Shaker Road in Latham. Coffee and snacks at 8 a.m., meeting at 8:30. Call Sr. Lee at 783-3674.
