Agriculture
Within the agricultural area
of this InterFaith Settlement, there is the cultivation of crops, including
rice, corn, wheat, oats, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, carrots, and
additional produce. There is also the
raising of cattle within this InterFaith Settlement, including horses, cows
(for milk), sheep (for wool), goats (for milk), chickens (for eggs), and
other animals, including
cats and dogs. The cattle are maintained
for the specific purpose described; there is an absence of
slaughtering animals within
this InterFaith Settlement. These crops
and provisions from animals are directly provided for specific consumption by
the residents of this InterFaith Settlement as well as for general trade
between this InterFaith Settlement and other individuals and organisations in
the locality of this InterFaith Settlement and throughout the World.
Light Industry
Within the industrial area
of this InterFaith Settlement, there is the maintenance of light industry. This includes the production of furniture and
other handcrafts, as well as clothing. The
products made from this light industry are directly provided for specific
utilisation by the residents of this InterFaith Settlement as well as for
general trade between this InterFaith Settlement and other individuals and
organisations in the locality of this InterFaith Settlement and throughout the
World.
Education
This InterFaith Settlement
provides formal education, from preschool and kindergarten to level 12, to the
children of this InterFaith Settlement within the facilities previously
described. This InterFaith Settlement
utilises the Montessori Method of instruction (http://montessori.co.uk), specifically from
preschool and kindergarten through level 8.
This InterFaith Settlement also consults with the example and practices
of the
Settlement also includes the
instructional guidelines provided by the International Baccalaureate Programme,
(www.ibo.org), to prepare students to
continue their respective education through the university level and beyond.
The distinctions within the schooling and the coinciding separation of facilities are made in the proceeding manner: preschool and kindergarten (ages ~2 – 5), elementary school (ages ~ 6 – 8; levels 1 – 3), higher elementary school (ages ~ 9 – 10; levels 4 – 5), middle school (ages ~ 11 – 13; levels 6 – 8), preparatory school (ages ~ 14 – 17; levels 9 – 12) (additional information pertaining the curriculum progression is included within the addenda).
There is also the potential for higher
education to be provided within the auspices of this InterFaith Settlement,
similar to the example of
