The Making of the Band

Exit Only is unlike other bands. Most bands, normally, come together by choice, or they deliberately decide to come together in order to start a

very good rock band, mostly because, of course, they want to make good music, imitate a famous band, or become famous. Exit Only did

none of these things. We never did say, "Hey, let's start a band," or, "Hey, wanna be in a band?" Nope. Exit Only wasn't created. Exit Only happened.

It all started, well, no one can really say exactly how long ago it was because it was not a concrete decision to become a band. But I

think I can trace the humble beginnings back to the lonesome days when Clark Demas and I jammed together, singing songs that neither of us had

previously written. It was all free style. And I kid you not, we sucked. We were horrible, but then something happened. Somethat that would

change the rocking world forever. Clark came up with a song about a girl named Helen, with good music and all. We were stoked. Still though,

the band was not even started, nor complete. Honestly, I did not want to be in a band with Clark at the time. It's hard to admit, but I was still

caught up with mainstream crap. Stupidly, I wanted to be in a good band. So, shortly thereafter, Clark and I stopped rocking.

But one day changed everything when fate put me, Daniel Beaty, and Clark Demas in the same room. We were all waiting for Jared Foy,

because today was a perfect summer day, and all of us were gonna go to the beach. But as usual, Jared was late, so Clark, Daniel and I needed to

do something to remedy our boredom. We decided to record our song "Helen." When we were finished, we were amazed at what a contribution

Daniel made to the song. His background screaming left me breathless because I was laughing so hard. I don't think we knew it yet,

but from that moment forward, the band was formed.

Finally, Jared arrived, not knowing that his absence started a musical revolution. Since Jared was our ride, we all piled in his car, anxious

to tell him what we had created. I think, by then, we figured out that this was meant to be. That we were divinely put together at that time so that we

would start a band. And in duty to fate, we decided to take up our calling. The calling of rock. Fate finished its work with us, so it was placed on us

to name the band. We trusted that a named would be revealed along the highway as we made our way to the beach. "Merge Right?" nah. "Next Exit?"

no. "Exit Only?" Yes! The whole car unanimously agreed, and thus creating rock's saviour.
