What is the Book and Video Discussion Group? Beginning in the fall of 1998, Integrity formed a book discussion group focusing on lesbian and gay spirituality and theology. In 2000 the group broadened to include movies and books. The discussion group meets separately from the general membership meetings in group members' homes on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Discussed titles include The Good Book by Peter J. Gomes, Is the Homosexual My Neighbor? by Letha Scanzoni and Virginia Molenkott, and Stealing Jesus by Bruce Bawer. Movies have included The Times of Harvey Milk, Jeffrey, and Strawberry and Chocolate. The discussion group is an enriching opportunity to learn more about what it means to be gay and Christian in an atmosphere of trusting fellowship. If you have questions or want to know the current schedule, e-mail the coordinator for the group: [email protected]. Please include "Integrity Book and Video Group" in the subject line of your e-mail. Following the meal, we gather for our evening's program. These programs are extremely varied in content and style. The content runs the gamut of social and religious issues and gives us the opportunity to meet leaders from all walks of life who are supportive of our community. In addition to our monthly meetings, we also enjoy several parties during the year and an occasional retreat. |
