Port Alberni Indigenous Family's Home Raided by RCMP and Elite Intelligence Unit

A Port Alberni indigenous family had their home raided at 6am on Saturday, September 21, 2002, by the RCMP Emergency Response Team and the new "Integrated National Security Enforcement Team" (INSET), which was created after the events of September 11, 2001.
This police raid was conducted as a follow-up to allegations that the family was "stockpiling arms", and lasted 4 hours. During that time, the family's children were not home, but the invading officers made vague threats that they would take the family's children.
Of course, no weapons were found, as this was clearly an attempt to intimidate and gather intelligence. Most obviously, the fact that one of the residents has been active in producing films about the resistence of the Secwepemc people against the Sun Peaks Resort expansion on their land must have been the pretext for this politically-motivated incursion.
