  • Welcome to the year of 2004. Insurgency Records has been on break for awhile because of band problems and such. Benita's Bacteria is officially no more and Cujo is no more. Gnarr was having a problem for a little while too, but we got it back together and started writing new shit. You can hear a rough draft of one of our new songs on the mp3 page but there are no vocals on this one yet... Also a two-man-band featuring me (James from Gnarr) and Peter (ex-Benita's Bacteria) is in discussion. Experimental-thrash using a Qy-700 music sequencer, guitar, and the lovely voices of Peter and James.

  • One thing that I forgot to post yesterday: I recently found out Funerus Feast, as a band, is officially dead. However, Preston (the drummer) informed me of his new band Dead Flesh. It looks like it's some good stuff, though I haven't heard them.
Also: I put another Cujo song on the mp3's page for your guys enjoyment. This one has vocals...I love it.

  • Holy fuck it's been a long time since I updated this page...Anyhow, some updates for the few of you that come to this site:
Number one: I got in contact with one of the craziest bands I've heard in awhile. They are a thrash-core band from Utrecht, Netherlands and they blew me away. Nuestros Derechos is their name and playing some kick ass old-school punk/metal fusion is their game. I put their mp3 Het Wynglas on the mp3's page. They will be appearing on the upcoming compilation and I hopefully will release an E.P or something by them, because these guys are fabulous.
Number two: Daily Genocide has changed their name to Benita's Bacteria. They sent me some pictures (which are now on the pictures page). Damn those kids are young...even compared to me. That kicks ass that kids as young as that listen and play extreme music, I would never find that in my shithole town. Peter (the vocalist) isn't young though, he's just a fucking weirdo. I love him though.
Number three: The Detriments have died, or actually Phil and Kenny still play in it but it isn't thrash anymore. The Gnarr-mates who were in the band (James/Steve/Landon) aren't in it anymore either, so scratch The Detriments.
Number four: Don't fret too much about The Detriments because James (me) is back in another side project. It's a revival effort of an old Grind-punk band that used to play around town (actually Gnarr was started hoping they would be playing shows with these guys but as soon as Gnarr started the other band died off). Two previous members from the band are in it and then James fills in for the old drummer. The band is called Cujo and I personally think it's some really good stuff. I put an mp3 (minus vocals and second guitar) on the mp3's page.
Number five: Oh joyous day! Starting TODAY Gnarr is going into the recording studio for the compilation songs and either a split with Dick Butkis (need to run that by them and see what they think) or an LPCD release. No more delays, no more bullshit excuses, just good ol' Power-thrash at its finest. Gnarr also recorded a live show but I'm not sure if I want to release it...we'll see, I guess. I put an mp3 from it on the mp3's page for the hell of it, so give it a listen.
Number six: NoMiddleGround changed their name back to 22 Cent Solution and will be releasing the EP very soon. Also sadly, BKTRIO is dead as well as Cultural Diffusion. However their music will live on through Insurgency.

  • Two new releases are out, Funerus Feast - Possess the Darkness - Live CD and Castro's Conviction - Ah, Resistance is a Bliss! - EPCD. Decided to scratch the Gnarr/Castro's Conviction split and release the CC stuff by itself. Gnarr releasing something in the near future...I swear...

    09-29-03

  • Got in contact with Dick Butkis, they are joining the family known as Insurgency Records. James is contemplating changing the name of the label, but it won't be anytime soon. Gnarr/Dick Butkis split in the process of being discussed.

    09-07-03

  • Received a demo in the mail from a band from Roanoke, VA, called Dick Butkis. This band is "filthy crust/sludgecore" and I enjoyed it alot and am in the process of getting in contact with them to see if they'd like to be part of the family. Still looking at Shock Culture as well as another band from Southern Pines, NC called Rising Disturbance. This band is a political thrash/punk band but I have yet to hear them.

    08-23-03

  • Well I found out NoMiddleGround is still together and will be releasing some shit soon, straight out of the fingers of Keith himself. So I'm defenitly looking forward to that. Keep checking back for new shit.

    08-19-03

  • Well thanks to whoever the fuck Jay Mizak is for setting me straight. NoMiddleGround I guess never happened, Fecal Porn is dead (though Brad signed the guestbook awhile ago saying a new site was coming, I'll keep my eyes open on that one), Cultural Diffusion is gone (I already knew that, it doesn't mean I'm not still selling their stuff though, they will remain on the band list), and now Castro's Conviction is dead. Well it doesn't matter the Gnarr split with them will still be released and it will still kick major ass. Which reminds me, Gnarr is recording very soon, we are way too lazy to get anything done when we want. The Detriments/Daily Genocide Split is pushed back a bit because DG is writing all new material. Also, looking at a new band for the label, Shock Culture.

    08-02-03

  • The Detriments have switched members somewhat, but still same old gay ass thrash. The Detriments/Daily Genocide split Ep should be coming out very soon as well as the very delayed Gnarr/Castro's Conviction split (sorry). SxGxK(Some Gay Kid) has been added to the label, one man thrash band run by the one the only Danny Chi.

    07-11-03

  • La Contienda as a band is dead. Gnarr had to replace a bassist after the loss of John so Gnarr has become a mix.

    06-30-03

  • New band added to the Insurgency Records: Funerus Feast (great grindy metal from Jacksonville, FL). Looking at two other bands as well, one from the Southern California area called Daily Genocide (thrashcore) also looking at another band from Wilmington, NC called Caine and the Disablers.

    06-24-03

  • Keith is passing the torch so it seems. He is unable to keep Insurgency going like he wishes, so James must pick up where the sexy Keithmeister left off. Keith will still be the driving force behind the wonderful record label that he created but Jamesy-Poo will also now be a key man. Also in other news James has been informed that 22-cent Solution is changing their name to NoMiddleGround and will be more of a thrash-metal type band. The lineup is pretty much the same except for a few changes.

    04-17-03

  • Exciting news, a new band has been introduced on the label by James. They are called The Detriments and its another side project of GNARR. Its real good shit I think you guys will like it.

    03-29-03

  • A few changes. Bands dropped: Infection. Bands added: La Contienda. Sorry for the inconvience with the site. Been having trouble with angelfire. It deleted the index page and the news page for a day. No one noticed probably....thats cool. James from Gnarr, La Contienda, and The Detriments has temporarily taken complete dictorial control over Iraq, Cuba, and Insurgency Records.
