My Quilts

These are the quilt tops I've made. It should soon be obvious which colors/fabrics are my favorites! Thank goodness for that terrific Joann's discount card!

This pink and blue sampler is now 8 years old. I started it in the summer of 1997 before we moved back to Ohio. My mom was making a pink and green sampler for her and my dad's new room and I wanted one too! My first quilt!

This one was really a group effort. My mom wanted to do something different for my grandma for Christmas. She has both of us, my two aunts, and my cousin help with this one. Each of us did five of the heart blocks and we were all responsible for one "signature" block. I embroidered an M&M M in mine for my nickname. The center bottom block is dedication block that says - For our mother-in-law and grandma - Christmas 2001. It is backed in plain blue flannel. We are from left to right -myself, Grandma, Angela, my mom Anita, Maryann and her daughter Maureen.

Seahorses: I found this one in a magazine in March 2002 when I was sick. I have a dolphin and fish thing, so it didn't take much to win me over!

Snowmen -- When I saw this pattern, I knew I had to make it! I absotively, posilutely, LOVE snowmen! We changed a few things -- took out the inner borders, changed the nine patch blocks to shoofly blocks, and used fabric markers and beads instead of embroidering the snowmen faces. I really like the way this one came out! It's also backed in snowman flannel. I love flannel. I'd live in it all the time if I could!

I have a pattern for a jigsaw puzzle quilt I'm going to cut out soon. It calls for 21 different fabrics for the pieces. Eighteen of those will be snowman related!

This is my masterpiece. I love it, I love it, I love it!! Click here: to read about the assembly of this one. Too long to post here!

I took a machine quilting class in March 2003 and wanted to practice on something. I used some plain muslin, but I really wanted to learn to quilt in the ditch, so I decided my 2 year old lab/shepard mix dog, Jersey, could get a new quilt. Jersey loves quilts -- she likes to climb on them when my mom's working on one! I decided to go with one of my favorite patterns, a block called Swirl, and use some primary colored dog fabric for the backing, as well as some of Jersey's favorite color, red, for the front. Hey, the dog likes it!

I made this table runner as a my friend Shauna's wedding present. She got to pick the colors (orange and blue) and then I looked locally to find some fabric to use. I spent several months looking for the backing for this one -- a Chicago Bears print. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find that stuff in Ohio? Anyways, it's been sent to Shauna and Steve, so hopefully they'll get a lot of use out of it!

Anita's Quilts: My mom's quilts page. I learned most of what I know from her.
