Dear you,

I've been thinking a lot recently (not again...) about the whole media thing in relation to riding, which i guess is what this site is about and what you're about too, in one way or another. There's a lot of websites about riding, about people's scenes and whatnot, and sometimes i look at them and wonder how different they would be if the person that made them didn't pay any attention to bmx media in general.

is it all a bit of a 'who can fit in the best' game?

you see people's sites after each issue comes out, and you can see the magazine's point of view reflected in the websites. i'm not saying whether this is good or bad, but my point is this. magazines have to make their readers want to buy the stuff the advertisers advertise, otherwise the magazine would go bust. Because we have the ability to make our own media, without advertising like that, does it mean we have to do the same? i don't think there's any way we can get away from it, or even that it would be a good idea to, but sometimes i see stuff and it's like people don't even notice.

everyone rides for their own reasons. there's one thing that everyone has in common and that's the riding itself. and that's the only thing that matters now, to me.

just go ride and stop thinking.

stu.

ps. don't take this too seriously!
