The phone rang, startling Claire awake. It
took her a minute to
process why she was sleeping on her couch sleeper and who was asleep
with their head on her stomach. She slid out from under Shane and ran
for the phone. "Alright, we've got your cousin here. We'll do an even
trade for our mate Shane. Just drop 'im off at WXXL and no one gets
hurt.", "Do I know you?" Claire said laughing. "It's me,
Bryan!
Irresistable Irishman, blond, talented, handsome...", "If you say so.
I think I'm going to keep him actually. How is Michelle baby?", "Still
asleep in my bed and it's a shame I'm not there. Relax, I was a
perfect gentleman. Seriously, we have a radio interview in 30
minutes and even Mark is up already. Can you get him there?",
"We'll be there." Claire shook Shane, "Get up, we've got to get
you to
the radio station. Duty calls and all that". He still wasn't getting
up so she bent in closer. He pulled her down to him and pinned her
under him."Morning love,got a fry up ready?","No, you'll be lucky
to
grab an Egg McMuffin. You're not going to be late because of me. I
have some of my brother's clothes around and a spare toothbrush in the
bathroom. Go Shane!" He grumbled as he kissed her,"Wow, what a
grump in the morning. Hope you're in a better mood this afternoon.
They barely got there and Claire slipped into "the girlfriend section"
with Georgina, Mattie, and Michelle. "I want details girl" Claire said
when she sat next to her cousin. "If I can remember any you'll get
them"she said nursing a black coffee. "They party those boys. I can't
help but feel I insulted Bryan", "Why?", "I'm not up on all
this
slang. He asked if I fancied a shag. I told him sorry but I
was already sick to my stomach. I thought a shag was a drink!" They
all burst out laughing, "That's our Bry" Mattie said giggling with G.
A young girl asked if anyone had a girlfriend and Shane mentioned he
had 'someone special' and winked at her. "Now we want the details!"
Michelle said hitting her cousin."Not much to tell. I told him about
Nick, we talked and I fell asleep in his arms on my couch. The
usual.", "Usual for who?" For the next 4 days Claire and Michelle
toured with the entourage, every night ending with Claire wrapped in
Shane's arms. True to his word he never pushed but made it clear this
was something he wanted to continue after they left. Tearfully saying
goodbye she decided that yes, Shane was worth the work.
