"Hi Howie" Claire said sighing.
Howie was one of the nicest people
she knows but he has rotten timing."The manager told me you were here
with friends, but she didn't say who. Nice to see you Shane" Howie
said shaking Shane's hand."Yes, it is" Shane said but was thinking
"liar". "Would you mind if I cut in? It's been awhile since I've
seen
Claire and I want to catch up with one of my favorite friends", "Erm,
no. I'll just be at the table. See you in a moment" Shane said
squeezing Claire's hand. She turned back to Howie, "You saw me 2 days
ago, what's up with you?", "Claire,how many times do I have to remind
you not to get involved with a boy band member? Again." Howie said
shaking his head. Howie had taken the position of big brother and
protector of Claire from the first day they met. She took his family
on a tour and they just clicked, it was through him she had met Nick
Carter. "How is Nick?", "Very sorry, he realizes what he did was
wrong
and wants to talk with you.", "It's too late D. Shane isn't
Nick."
Shane sat at the table and glared in their direction, sulking at the
sight of them laughing together. He had no right to feel jealous but
he did."How friendly is Claire with Howie?" Shane asked Michelle which
made Kian and Bryan smirk. "Oh, they're just friends. It's been awhile
since Claire has had a boyfriend in her life. She had a bad
relationship and totally shut down after. He really messed with her
head." Michelle trailed off. "Don't say anything, she'd kill me if she
knew I told you guys". Shane looked back at Claire. Her auburn hair
was shining in the lights and her hazel eyes sparkled with laughter.
"I'd never do anything to cause her pain" Shane said back.
"I'm just playing it by ear, I just want want to have fun
again".
Howie hugged her, "OK, I just don't want you to get hurt C-Lo.",
"I
hate that name.","I know. Let's go say 'Hi'. I do like them".
Howie
chatted with the group for awhile then left. "Alright, night's still
young. What's up next?" Kian asked throwing his arms over Michelle and
Claire's shoulders. "I'm really tired but you go on. Take care of her
or I'll hunt you down." Claire said hugging her cousin. "Would you
like to come by the hotel and talk for a liitle while?" Shane asked
hopefully, he wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. "Not really, but if
you'd like we could talk at my home". Shane looked at Michelle and she
shrugged. "Yeah, that would be brilliant"...
