If anyone walked past CLUB SERENITY nothing about it would seem unusual.  The outside was adorned with the usual club decore: inexpensive neon signs glowing, drawing multitudes of teenagers to dance, to wave goodbye to the world and dance the night and their problems away; rusty doors and peeling paint. Even the teenagers who it drew to it like a moth to a flame would agree that the inside of the club was like any other club with a gimmick. CLUB SERENITYS being the offer of two clubs in one.  One side of the club was what people called THE BUFFY BRONZE, it was an imitation and tribute to the club in buffy the vampire slayer. Basically dark, bronze painted walls and a flickering dull neon sign, which indicated which side of the club it was.  It had a dark, some said gothic, atmosphere to it, a call to the stereotypical outsider wanting to disappear into the darkness but it wasnt exclusive, anybody who wanted to listen to alternative music was welcome.  The other side of CLUB S was like a normal night club but with a foam party and dance ring on Saturday and Tuesday with a variety of club, garage, hip hop, soul and r' n' b playing.  Thus was the appeal of CLUB SERENITY to every teenager in Vancova.  Even Joe the club owner didnt think much about why it was sold so cheaply to him by that man in a suit.  He hated men in suits, but could never turn down a good deal when he saw one and CLUB SERENITY was definitely a very good thing.  Vancova only a few miles from Los Angeles was regarded by most as a miniature version of the cityjust without the excessive violence.  CLUB SERENITY definitely summed up Vancova, a town as diverse and cosmopolitan as any big city would be.

The club even had a basement where Joe kept his stock of non-alcoholic drinksat least thats what he told the cops. But what Joe and the rest of the town didnt know was that below the basement, were another set of rooms, not just a set of simple rooms but a large complex.

A young man in a sharply ironed black suit casually strolled along a brightly-lit sterile metallic corridor; he turned to the right, through the metallic door and into a dark empty room and just waited.
At first glance the room looked empty.  Empty and simple in decor apart from the silver desk in the middle of the room surrounded by two men in black suits but with orange and green ties and two women in blue and red ones.  Apart from the flashing light of the monitor they stared at, which at intervals illuminated their stone cold expressions, their faces were well hidden by the darkness.

Their gazes were focused on the screen on the desk; they were anxiously peering at it  waiting.  Finally the images they were waiting for appeared because, each of them broke into chilling smiles which did nothing to warm up the cold atmosphere of the room.  They stared at the cheerful image of two girls walking and chatting.

Are they the ones? asked green tie.
Yes hissed blue tie.
We have been watching them for a while now and we are positive that they are the ones to complete the team.
Well, we better go get them and soon, added red tie decisively.

The man in a black suit who had entered the room unnoticed finally spoke.
I dont think that now is the time to go after them, he interrupted
Red tie surprised looked round and locked eyes with him. Jacob, she said surprised, I thought that you were in Korfu.
Well, he said, I thought you would be needing my help Eva, he added smugly.
Help, she spat, I can handle this!  she added and turned to the rest of the suits
Well watch them for a couple more days. And then introduce ourselves to the twins.
Then turning to face Jacob pointedly added  without your help .  They locked eyes for what seemed like hours, challenging anger and hate pouring from each of them.   The other suits watched both with fear of what was going to happen to them if they interrupted and with fascination at their two leaders, locked in a battle for power and dominance, frenemies.  Friends sometimes.  Enemies struggling for approval from Ivan? Always.
It was a battle but with no winner.  Jacob, finally relented and smirked, nodding as if in approval to her.  She smiled then turned back to watching the screen.  Following her lead, the other suits turned their attentions back to the two girls on the screen apart from Jacob who stood there for a moment and without uttering a word turned and left.
