As Jesus was nailed on the cross long ago
Could you have stood by and watched Him slain
Without letting your emotions show
Knowing that what He was doing
He was doing out of love for you
Could you have stood by and watched Him die
Knowing and seeing the suffering He went through
Can you even begin to understand
What He really went through that day
Laughed at, scorned, mocked and humiliated
So for the sins of the world he could pay
