I am a Boy
Scout!
William D. Boyce a Chicago publisher got lost one night in a London fog. A boy touched him and asked, Can I help you sir? He escorted the publisher to his hotel, and upon arrival refused pay for his services. I am a Boy Scout, he explained. We do not accept pay for rendering a service to anyone in need.
Boyce was impressed. He called on Sir Robert Baden Powerll, founder of British scouting, to learn more about the movement. Returning to America, he became one of the leaders in establishing Boy Scouting in his country.
The Disciple of Nabi
One day Muhammad Nabi was instructing his disciples. One of them had a fledgling of a parrot with him. Nabi asked this disciple:
Are you marr-ied?
Yes.
Have you children?
Yes, I have a one-year-old child.
If you love your child, you will be pained when your child is separated from you. And the child too will suffer. Remember, it is the same with the parrot. Please take it back to its nest, said the Nabi.
