I am compiling this page on Saturday 30th November 2002 , as a dedication to the Landlord (Malcolm) and Landlady (Sandra Mary Smith)  of The Admiral Hawke Public House 252 high st  in Boston Spa.  They are both hard working and dedicated people to the efficient running of the pub and have increased the clientelle significantly since taking over in 2001. The pub is owned by Samual Smiths brewery located in Tadcaster about three (3) miles away.

I have been going on a friday lunchtime , weekly to the Admiral Hawke pub for lunch since August 2002 with elderly friends Gladys and Irene Webster both worth a mention
We always get a friendly warm welcome and have our tables reserved for us, Malcolm is a barrel of laughs, always a cheery smile no matter what.  Each day Sandra writes a choice of specials dishes on the black board to compliment the traditional daily menu.  She is always elegantly dressed in chefs trousers and on Friday 29th november had a new hair style worn up - very nice indeed !!!
Gladys and Irene generally have fish and chips and I have either gammon with chips and salad or my favourite a sirloin steak, on wednesday 27th November Sandra served up a tasty stew and dumplings for us at �3.00,  I usually have jam rolly polly to follow at �1.50 plus A half of Sovereign beer at 59pence followed by a second half and a coffee at 71pence a mug - excellent value !!

prices correct to date - Monday 19th January 2004 :  Went for lunch today, had lamb it was very nice.
Wednesday 24th December 2003.  Sandra and Malcolms daughter Melissa had a baby son named Declan at 3.15am.  They are really happy and proud parents.   
On the 9th April 2004 sandra and malcolm are going to stay with a friend in Thailand for 15 days, hoping to get a relief couple called Stan & Margaret to cover for them inthe pub; they covered last year while they were away on holiday.
February 2004 :
Great new menu - Introduction of Treakle sponge & custard on the menu at the  request of regulars - yummy - its extremely popular!!!

Monday 27th September to Wednesday 7th October 2004
Sandra and Malcolm went on holiday to Durham.  Relief landlord Ted and S andra took over.  They provided me with a marvellous sirloin steak on friday 1st october but on sunday 3rd october the sunday lunches were not piping hot.  Peter sent his beef lunch back !

Monday 1st November 2004
Sampled the four x mild beer on the recommendation of Raymond Waite, a regular customer - very nice - price �1.14 a pint to date.

Wednesday 1st June 2005
Malcolm and sandra smith leave the admiral hawke after 4 and a half years, owing to poor health, and go to Shann house , a B & B in Tadcaster North Yorkshiree
Martin & Denise take over as new management - we wish them success in running the admiral hawke
i went in for lunch on the friday 3rd june 2005 for a sirloin steak it was very nice indeed at �8.40 inc spotted dick pudding and coffee.  thanks to my mate  Peter Brabourne for buying me a 4 X mild beer at �1.18 ; going down in price August 2005 to �1.02

friday 14th October 2005
Martin and Denise go on a 17 day holiday - already.  not been in the pub long, i think they are going to Tenerife
